Game Thread | Game #14 | Cavs @ Bucks | Nov. 16, 2022

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He hit a 3 from the corner , is in double figures , played solid ”D” and has to feel some extra pressure to succeed given the fact that JBB almost refuses to play him
The standard is just so low...

10 points on 46% TS.
0 assists.

And his man cheats off him to crowd the paint every possession he's in. He's an extreme negative on offense and there's really no arguing against it. I swear people just aren't watching close enough when they defned guys like Okoro and Stevens who legitimately make us play 4 on 5 on offense.

LeVert’s disappearance/ regression certainly has made our rotations more difficult for JBB. There’s a growing list of offensive non-entities who can’t be on the floor simultaneously, i. e. LeVert, Okoro and RoLo. Osman is on that list more frequently of late and KLove hasn’t done a thing either of late

All4One just moves the goal posts.

No one here thinks Stevens is a starting caliber wing. He isn't.

But he can contribute off the bench and be a positive player.

Yes, Lamar Stevens guarding Giannis for an entire game is probably gonna make Lamar Stevens look bad.

Newsflash.
There's no goal posts being moved. He's not playable off the bench either. People on this forum have never even remotely understood the concept of spacing though, so I'm not even going to waste my breath anymore. You guys continuously fall in love with the scrubs who give "hard nosed defense!" while posting garbage advanced metrics and it's hilarious.

LeVert doesn't fit in the starting lineup with Garland and Mitchell.

Something the entire board said from the start of the year but our head coach can't see it.

Once the losing gets bad enough, he'll try something else.

By that point, team's confidence will be shot to hell though.

You can already tell the guys are starting to get that "oh no, maybe we aren't that good after all" vibe.

Levert and his 17 million expiring and Love's 30 million expiring ABSOLUTELY should be on the block. Maybe you can't do better than them, but you have to find out before you're forced to pay them or let them walk for nothing.

Only 20 pages for this thread? Maybe others are having trouble using the site, or are just sick of the Cavs already

Crazy thing about tonight is while we were missing Allen, Bucks were missing their 2nd & 3rd best player and two of the best perimeter defenders in the league.

A parting / sobering thought ; just 9 days ago we were #2 in the NBA in the ESPN Power Index. This week’s ranking already has us falling to #7.…and …..

The top 4 is nice. 5-15 is ass. Add in a bottom tier coach and we are somehow only 8-6 despite Mitchell playing like a MVP most nights.

Levert, Okoro and Stevens are basically the same guy at this point and they all suck. Cedi is a deep bench guy that shouldn’t be playing extended minutes on a good team. Love is hit or miss. He could toss up 25 in 20 minutes or no show.

Team could really use a healthy Rubio. Team really gets rattled and falls apart quickly and Ricky was so good at stopping that from happening last year.

I’m pissed, but this may be a blessing in disguise. Altman still has a lot of work to do and this group will need a new coach to really be a serious contender. Better for this reality to set in sooner rather than later.

They've got LeVert's expiring and Love's expring.

But you guys are gonna have to get used to most of these guys being relied on, because there are no more bullets in the chamber to really make a big move. All of the draft picks are gone.

So I'm telling you now, you won't find a better starting wing than Dean Wade this year.

Accept it.

I missed the game but how did Darius and Donavan play together? And what’s the main reason we lost.

1)Not well.

2)We decided to overhelp on Giannis drives, turned him into a passer, and all of the Bucks shooters made every 3 they got off of that.

Feels just like last year when things started going south. Seemingly every team hit every 3 against us, and it's because the defense is designed that way.

Like I said, we're the only team in the league that doesn't understand the value of the corner 3 on offense and the value of preventing it on defense.

Poorly coached.

If it weren't for the losses prior to this, I'd just chalk this up as Lopez shooting out of his mind and Nwora, a poor shooter, getting hot. It happens in the NBA.

But I just saw this same thing last game, where Russel, a guy in the middle of the worst season of his career, shooting the lights out.

And the game against the Kings where they couldn't miss a 3.

And the game against the Clippers.

Last year when we we're near our best, there was a stat out there that kinda pointed to it being somewhat fool's gold. That we weren't THAT good. because up to that point, opponents FG% on open 3s was worst against us. That we were getting lucky that they were missing more open 3s against our team than anyone else.

And then they started hitting them and hitting them and hitting them.

Again, the defense is designed this way.

It's not that you shouldn't have an Okoro, or a Stevens, or a LeVert, or even a Cedi on the roster, but when you have all four on the same roster and you start playing them together, or with two big men who like to operate in the arc, you just don't have enough shooting on the court.
