JBB probably doesn't want Diakite to shine because it's going to make his roster adjustment difficult...

That's for guys in their 30's, like Kyle Lowry, who's 36. Young guys can play two nights in a row. As much as they're making the salaries they are they should play every game unless they're injured. Besides, tomorrow is an off day.

He’s been out a few games on G league assignment already. And I believe 2-way guys can only be active a certain amount of times with the NBA squad.

I highly doubt assigning guys to the G League vs NBA is a coaching decision vs a front office decision, but that won’t stop the crying about JBB holding the man down.

Who makes that final decision? I'd guess it makes sense for the FO to be like "hey, coach who is missing half his normal rotation, do you need Diakite to play tonight?" Regardless of who makes that decision, that person is a jag. We're already extremely under-manned and on a back to back. This is how more players get injured.

Again, when there are contractual stipulations involved I have to imagine it comes down to the front office.

You don't have to look hard to point out flaws about the coach, acting like he has it out for this guy is hilarious though.

There is a limit as to how may games you can suit up for as a g-leaguer. I don’t remember exactly the number but they pull you back and forth like a yo-yo. Did exactly the same thing with Wade. Don’t even try to make sense as to how they decide which games because it won’t make sense.

Just looked it up, but they can be active 50/82 NBA games.

He's been active in 12/20 games so far. Seems like they have a set schedule for him to spread those 50 games active over the entire season, as he is on pace to be active 48 times right now. Not leaving much flexibility later in the season when guys get hurt or are out more frequently if you blow your wad with him early.

They dont disclose illness here, its non covid that is all we know and probably the most we will ever know. If Lamar wants to reveal he can, but the team is not allowed to reveal it goes against HIPAA laws.
