Do Not Sell My Personal Information
No offense but if your exercise bike threw you on the floor a half dozen times and then ran over you with a 250 pound gorilla on it….. .it wouldn’t be hard to understand.
I’m old school as well…..these guys are supposed to be bigger, faster stronger and have all kinds of perks in their after games routine! I think most of who played street ball (I know I did) played sometimes 3-4 days back to back (and 3-4 games a day)!
And I challenge anybody to tell me that NBA games are tougher than the games we played at the park and at the rec centers! Those games were physical!

I’m as old school as anybody too but were the dudes you and I were playing with as big as fast or as strong as these NBA guys??? Yeah I didn’t think so.

Dead legs. That's the only explanation for 7-for-38 on 3's, most of which were totally uncontested. The legs were dead.

If the Cavs just go 12-for-38 (31%) that's 15 more points in a 12-point loss.

Dead legs and no Jarrett Allen added up to a loss. If we get them with Allen and not having played the day before we'll beat them.

LeVert hurt the team way more than he helped, but it was good for him to get the first game back under his belt in a game we weren't going to win anyway.

Mobley and Garland played well - everybody else played well below their capabilities. Okoro was 1-for-11.

The defense was very good, holding the Raptors to 100 points and 44%. Unfortunately, they were 12-for-28 from deep, over their season average and 15 points better than the Cavs on 3-pointers.

The Cavs only had 9 turnovers against the team that leads the NBA in forcing turnovers, so that was good. We also held them to 7 offensive rebounds and they average 13 and had 17 two nights ago.

If Allen could have played and just a little better 3-point shooting we could have won tonight. But there were some good things - the defense, the defensive rebounding, minimal turnovers, getting LeVert 29 minutes to reacclimatize, and the play of Mobley and Garland.

When Mobley drives he has that long step where he can pick up the ball at the free throw line, take one step and be at the rim. He's starting to do that with authority, leaning into the defender, taking the contact, and still getting the layup. His jump shooting is a work in progress, however.

Yesterday they also shot like shit and had plenty of rest

I never get this “tired on a back-to-back” thing. I mean, it’s 48 minutes of basketball, with lots of breaks in between.

I ride my exercise bike for 45 minutes most days - pretty hard, a lot of times - and I’m not incapacitated on the second night of a back-to-back. And that’s after doing my DAY JOB for 8-10 hours. And I’m twice as old as some of these dudes!

Suck it up, Fellas! Life is hard, even when you don’t play pro basketball!
and they jog down the court half the time. Watch LeBron sometime. Dude barely moves for 65% of the game. Once he gets a fast break, all of the sudden he is Jesse Owens

That's funny, this post sounds like it came from someone half their age

If you look around the league there are tons of injuries. Just recently we played the Pistons with four starters out, the Heat with Butler, Oladipo, and Herro out, the Bucks with Middleton out, and the Hornets with Ball out. Embiid just returned after missing four games and Siakam just returned last night.

Every team in the league has multiple players out with injuries, in many cases starters.

These guys play a rough, physical game. How many times do you see players end up on the floor behind the end line after a layup, even when they don't get fouled? There's a ton of contact while jockeying for position. It's not like riding an exercise bike.

Add in having to take a flight after a night game and get in at 2 in the morning and then bus to the hotel. It takes something out of your legs. The Cavs didn't miss 27 open 3's last night because they weren't willing to "suck it up".

The good news is that they got 35 open 3's. When they play Toronto with a day off before the game they will hit a lot more of those.

Also, getting Love back will help. The Raptors put their best defender (Anunoby) on Mitchell and forced him to work very hard to get open looks. They allowed Wade, Okoro, Cedi, LeVert, and Mobley all the open 3's they wanted and those guys were awful.

Just wondering how some teams/players get the reputation of
playing hard, physical basketball to the point the refs let much
hard contact go uncalled.

It doesn't seem to be an issue related to market size/ viewability
of the team/player benefiting from the whistles or lack of same.

Remember last season when there was a stretch when games
were being reffed more old school to the point even the Cavs
were reaping benefits.

For whatever reason, Cavs are not one of those with the
kind of reputation that allows the Raptors to play in
their current manner.

Either the Cavs are rotten playing 'acceptable' bully ball or
something else brings on the bad mojo.

anyone notice how mobley only dunks 2 handed? nothing wrong with that but sometimes a 1 handed jam is quicker with more force
Tristan had the same issue, something about his hand size.

Have mercy on us all.
Guy has millions invested in him, this is kind of the only path to take. Cost a year of losing, can't just give up on him
