Game Thread | Game #58 | Cavs @ Pelicans | Feb. 10, 2023

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
About a year ago, I was having a off RCF discussion with MYoung and we discovered that we "crossed" paths during our younger years with the same girl on U of Akron's campus.

It took everything in me not to reach out to her on 3 way while we were recording RRJ and ask her who was better :chuckle:
Let me know which day works next week.

By the way, it’s time for another RUBBER RIM JOB SHOW.

I felt all of 16 that day :02.47 tranquillity:

And that’s exactly what she’s going to do at Akron’s James Rhodes Arena when she meets up with @RchfldCavRaised and @MYoung23 for RUBBER RIM JOB sponsored TAG TEAM REUNION on Valentine’s Day.

I thought the greatest comeback story of all time was celebrated on Easter Sunday.

No.

The greatest comeback story of all time will take place at the James Rhodes Arena at the University of Akron on Valentines Day when @RchfldCavRaised and @MYoung23 RECONNECT with a mystery woman from their past for the TAG TEAM EVENT of the century in front of a LIVE audience.

Stay tuned for more details…

I can’t wait to see the Cavaliers at Wells Fargo on Wednesday. I’m behind the Cavaliers bench.

There’s a lot of comments about scary Mobley will be in the future. I agree but he’s pretty damn good right now. In transition his handles are damn good and he’s got all kinds of offensive moves in the paint. Defensively he’s DPOY candidate already.

I’m starting to think we have a chance to do some serious damage in the playoffs.
I’m literally thinking about going to this one as well…. Philly is 90 minutes from me— my girl is from Philly (she’s gonna be so cocky tomorrow during the Super Bowl) — however, I just might take the quick trip to see the Harden vs Windler matchup…

I'm going to the game on wed. Last year I saw a game in Philly and the Cavs put up 70 in the first and then harden and embiid went to the line the whole 2nd half.

Not this time

I love how these guys are doing a bit and only answering in a couple of words, Evan walks in completely oblivious, gives an answer and leaves, and his answer sounded exactly like everyone else's. The dude is all about basketball and can't be bothered to think about replying to interview questions!

This group of guys being as genuinely good guys as they are makes this team so much fun to root for. Everybody likes to see good things happen to good people, and this group of players definitely qualifies.

That was the Spurs, who played some of the best D ever and never gave up soundbites.

Nobody thought much about their personalities, because you never heard much out of them outside of Texas. If the Cavs can be good guys and also continue to play tough, this will be a hell of a run.

And I would have no qualms having my kids follow them on Instagram and/or reenact how they carry themselves on the court. If we could win a championship with this group I think it would be 10x better than the manufactured one with Lebron. By that I mean sacrificing future and growth to just churn through people like they are all replaceable. I'd rather have a Spurs type run over the long haul. I'm more a fan of the Cavs versus players, but I really do like the way they play, joke, and just overall demeanor.

Watching the game from last night the total disrespect that the ESPN announcers gave Mobley and the Cavs was embarrassing. With the pelicans down 20 in the 2nd quarter it was decided that ultimately if healthy the pelicans are the better team. Also that Mobley only scores most of his points because they are all assited down low and you can't count on his game to transfer from the college game

Fucking insane shit

I am not sure if the numbers support it, but the last few games it feels like the cavs have pushed the pace a lot more. They still have about 20 times a game where they cross halfcourt at 17 on the shot clock, but there seems to be at least some emphasis on pushing the pace a little more.

in S34 Bimbo did a break down a couple of days ago about the impact of Rubio and if pace has changed since he came back. Basically the answer is no. the cavs since he came back are more or less playing at their season average pace.

welp, guess the numbers don't support it then! Good stuff!

I think the difference is that we push the ball more in missed shots and especially in transition. Then rest it goes to the half court set but recently there’s a lot more ball movement which has made it more successful.

If you see the girl who was wearing those white pants when they played the Lakers last weekend, put in a good word for me please my brother

Gracias

Is that word dont tell your wife?

The smoothie king experience was cool, I'm glad I went. Rowdy crowd around me but I had a fun talking shit back to them. My wife thought shit was gonna kick off, until she realised it was just guys being guys. I mean we were laughing at each others jokes and shit. The people in NOLA just talk way more shit than Rocket fans have ever tried to talk to me.

Funny thing is at one point I was arguing a travel with the guy next to me.... and turns out its his seats I am sitting in lol. He moved from NYC to NOLA. After he said this is why i hate selling my seats! I was like well bro these are amazing seats and I for one appreciate the deal I got them for. We talked quite a bit through the game about the future of both franchises. They really think they have something in Zion, I personally don't see it. All these injuries he is well on his way to being blake griffin light. Athleticism will only get you so far for so long.... Anyways, I had some people come up to me later in the weekend when i was wearing a cavs hoodie, telling me the Cavs have a real squad and that made me feel good. I mean I am a fanatic, so i think we do have an amazing squad warts and all, but it's cool hearing it from fans of other franchises.

I love NOLA, Id be 500 pounds if I lived there but Id be a happy SOB.
