Gee Wiz...what's Alonzo's ceiling???

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I feel like Gee Force deserves to start, but he fits so well with the second unit.

I tell you what, Gee impresses me more and more with each game. If he could become a legitimate three point threat, the Cavs may have found themselves a championship-caliber rotation player.

i was kind of upset thompson got the start. gee is a very good defender and pretty efficient player imo.

he had 4 steals tonight and 4 steals the last game vs boston. his defense allowed the cavs to get back into the game too.

I think people get too caught up in who starts/comes off the bench. Gee was in at the end of the game. That's the most important thing.

gee is the perfect type of player you need for a contending team. tough physical defense, effective enough offensively and super athletic. If the 2009 cavs had 2012 alonzo gee, that orlando series would have gone a different way. great pick-up by grant. Gee keeps this up and he'll be on his way to a nice pay day this summer...3 yr 10M or something like that, I'd guess.

thats very true but id rather have gee on paul pierce than casspi and not let the deficit get too big.
still gee played 10 more minutes tonight than casspi.

Gee is someone I want on this team for the long haul. Not saying he is our starting SG/SF of the future, but I think he has a place on this team in the future.

I love it when he gets those sideline steals, he gets at least one a game. He's quickly learning the game and you can see when he gets in the game the whole tempo changes. Starting is kind of arbitrary, he's getting the minutes and making the most of them, that's what counts.

Gee has made leaps and bounds since coming back from the lockout, easily the most improved player so far from last season. I say keep him, he can only get better. If he develops a pull up jump shot, he could be a dangerous SG/SF. His defense is already pretty damn good. 4 steals tonight, that's awesome for a player we got for nothing.

He hit a nice pull-up jumper tonight.

Also I was just looking at his college stats, weird how he didn't get drafted. And I'm surprised he measured in at 6'5" in shoes and has a 6'10 wingspan. Not ideal SF size but he isn't too far off.

Gee saw the griffin dunk and thought 'might as well give it a go'

Didn't even make Top 10. If the name on the back of the jersey said "Griffin," it's number 1. Book it.

A lot of us have compared Gee to Bobby Phills and how he developed as a player. Phills improvement was at a slower pace than Gee's has been although he played on better teams.
The key for Gee is developing a reliable mid range game while keeping up his improvement from long range. The physical and athletic ability is there and his work ethic does seem strong. If he can become a Phills level player I think we will all be happy. It is very possible too.

I hadn't been following this thread, but i completely agree with this comparison. That's exactly who he reminds me of. Gee is about the same size, maybe a little taller, and a better leaper. When I first looked at either one, I thought they picked the wrong sport...i thought they were football players trying to play basketball. Both very hard workers that continued to grow and improve. When Bobby was 24 for the Cavs, he averaged 8pts, 3rebs, 2 assts....Gee is 24 and averages 8, 4 and 2. Bobby developed his outside shot and took his game to another level the next year...Gee is already fairly reliable from 3pt range. Phills also developed into an excellent lock down defender. I think Gee has the tools and work ethic to do the same. I really enjoy watching the kid play. He's one I'd absolutely hold onto and develop.

For those that never watched Bobby play, here's a short clip. RIP Bobby
