Gerald Wallace on the block?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Spoke to a few people bout this today. I think it is possible Danny Fery is working somethin out wth NYC and Charlotte. I remember Bob Finnan had an article sayin he thought there might be somethin goin on with the Bobcats and Gerald Wallace...

Totally speculatin but a really realistic deal could be:

Knicks get Wally, Bobcats get Curry and our 1st round pick and we get Gerald Wallace.

Gerald Wallace wont ever be Michael Redd from the 3 pt line, but that guy is getting better at everything every year.

If we can get in on this 3 team deal then I think its just too good to pass up. A guy of Wallace's alent for Wally and a pick...

Yes it would be an outstanding deal for us and actually for all involved. They are one good big away from the playoffs, we are one good SG from a title, and the knicks need to get rid of Curry because he is one good McDonalds cheeseburger away from a heart attack lol:).

The deal would make so much sense for us. We would lose Wallys shooting but with mo, delonte, and boobie they make up for it. A mo and GForce backcourt would cause so much problems for teams and Lebron wouldnt have to guard the other teams best player so he can focus even more on offense. This also wouldnt cause rotation problems either because Gerald can play sf and even a little pf like wally has been playing for us. Delonte can be our backup sg and probably be better off the bench because it would allow him to be more of a scorer. This deal would be just like the ron artest deal with houston but with wallace you wouldnt worry about major team changing blowups(ala Malace in the Palace)

I don't see how that helps the Bobcats. A late first rounder and a center not good enough to play whatsoever for a team that had about 30 wins the year before?

Curry is a half court center that when given the ball in the post can be pretty solid. The bobcats have a half court offensive coach that loves to use a big center to hand the ball off to in the post. Its like Curry and Larry Brown were made for each other.

Yea a late first rounder isnt great but considering the Knicks are going to have a high pick this year i dont think they are going to deal there anyways.

Not only that, but can you imagine the pressure Curry would take off of Okafor.

He may be a half-court center, but he also has a reputation for bad work ethic, weak athleticism, and poor defense. Doesn't sound like a Larry Brown type player to me either. I saw a similar rumor on Yahoo (lose Gerald Wallace, get Curry), so I guess it has some sort of foundation. Just doesn't seem that logical for me.

I don't think so either, but supposedly the Bobcats have been pursuing Curry.

Edit -
The Warriors, sources say, are not interested in absorbing the contract of Charlotte's very available Gerald Wallace, seeing little need for Wallace (and the four seasons left on his contract after this one at a cost of $38 million) when they have Corey Maggette and the soon-to-be-extended Stephen Jackson. (For the record, I was indeed told Friday that Jackson's contract extension is still coming sooner rather later.)

The Knicks continue to seriously covet Golden State's Al Harrington, but Charlotte, offering Wallace, won't work as a third-team facilitator. One source indicated that the Bobcats indeed have some interest in an Eddy Curry-for-Wallace swap, but taking on Wallace would run completely counter to New York's hopes (prayers?) of freeing up the salary-cap space to get into the bidding for LeBron James and the rest of the amazing 2010 free-agent class..

Can't see OKC (they'd want more than a retired player and low 1st rounder for Wilcox) or the Knicks (don't think they'd give up Lee + Collins just so they could dump Curry's contract, esp. if Curry for Wallace talks are out there) doing this trade. Charlotte likely would, we would in a heartbeat.

And it's Kinsey, not Kinsley ;)

Just read Windhorst's Q&A article and it touched on AV and his value to the team. He mentioned that Memphis put 8 million on the table for him, but backed out when Darko arrived on there team. That right there speaks volumes on what Andy expects and at this point I believe 8 mil to be a fair deal...but now that he's taken such vast measures to improve his game, lose weight, and work on his offense...I can't help but imagine he will want even MORE than that. That fact alone makes me wonder if it's the best idea to package him now...as in NOW...sooner than later before he has his annual, season altering ankle sprain occurs and then repeat what happened last year with contract disputes. Maybe the deal for him/wally for okafor/ wallace should be highly considered for the immediate future. I know he's a one of a kind player, but it's gonna go to his head. Hell if he hit a few more jumpers on a regular basis he might expect Nene money or worse. I just dont feel we can count on something to be worked out after how ugly things got last year with ferry and fegan...it would suck for that to be revisited. His value is soaring right now as it was last year when he started playing...then it dropped off after he got hurt. I love him here...he's that glue guy needed for the good of a championship ball club, but damn if he isn't a lil' whiny bitch when it comes to money...it uneases me a bit...sorry for the redundant rant
