What's the big deal if he leaves his football stuff in his locker, suspension or no? It's not like he's going to need it.

And what else are the Browns supposed to do with it? It's his jersey, gear all his size and perhaps some fitted especially for him, etc.. Can't see any reason why they would empty it out. After all, they're not cutting him, and expect him to return next year.

They would absolutely remove his stuff if he's barred from the facility.

Equipment managers would use the helmet, pads, etc for someone else. His locker is fully stocked, they obviously are preparing for all possibilities.

Pretty sure that stuff is custom tailored for his preferences for his body. This isn't a high school team that needs to collect jerseys, helmets and pads. The Browns can afford to have his stuff there as a "memento", so no, they won't hurry to distribute his equipment elsewhere because they don't need to.

At least he's keeping himself busy. Keep himself out of trouble hopefully.

At least in baseball, I know that equipment managers do in fact ration equipment out by size and collect them/re-distribute when a player gets called up, sent down, traded, etc.

Perhaps it's different in football, but I doubt it. Custom fitted pads, sure. Either way, they wouldn't leave it up as a "momento" for the season. :chuckle:

Sure they could. Many teams will have a "reminder" there for other guys, but they aren't always realized in the same fashion. Maybe the guys just liked him and wanted to dedicate a season to a "fallen teammate".. Maybe Pettine wanted his stuff there to remind everyone where you can be, regardless of talent, if you break NFL rules. I am not sure, but there are certainly a bevy of plausible reasons why his stuff is still there. I'm sure the 53 man roster and practice squad aren't in dire straits, rummaging thru other players' equipment.. That's for sure.

Being in baseball PR doesn't make you an expert on the equipment allocation, so please don't act like you know that his stuff will be gone because because you've seen it done. :chuckle:

So it could give the team a little momento to start the season with!

You always want momento on your side, amirite?????

Momentos, moxie and mundane play!

Honestly though, Josh's locker is probably still equipped because the team isn't sure if he'll file for an injunction or sling cars.

I have seen it done, but that couldn't be more beside the point. I'm not pretending to be an expert on anything, just speaking from experience and stating the obvious.

If they were leaving it up as some sort of momento, it would have been reported on as it always is. But it's not, and Gordon clearly has options left on the table which may allow him to stay this suspension and get on the field this year. Are those possibilities remote? Probably, but the fact of the matter is they don't leave his cleats in a locker because it makes the Browns players feel better for their comrade who has fallen due to a drug suspension.
