gun control

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I guess I'm going to go buy some more guns with my tax refund before they become illegal.

I've never been to a gun show. Are they any fun, can you get good deals, bypass the background checks on things like silencers?
What do you need a silencer for?

So the shots aren't that loud DUH

Seriously, I just wanted one. I almost bought one for my wife's gun, but it was a long wait and an extra registration, check, and a hefty tax.

It's probably much, much easier to get it now. b00bie, face it....you're a force in the Indians thread, but don't bring weak ass shit to real world stuff. This isn't a game.

Almost bulletproof....nice pun ;)

Says charles fucking bronson over here

Making bombs like the ones you linked to isn't hard. None of those are going to blow up a school like the case from 1927 that was linked to earlier in this thread, though.

One of those bombs could blow up a classroom, killing 20+ kids though.

When is the last time that has happened, though? I hear about school shootings every year. I can't remember the last time I heard about an actual bomb going off at a school and killing multiple people.

There are bomb threats in schools daily.

A January, 1999, explosion in a high school locker in Kansas City sent 11 students to the hospital.

An irate parent took the deputy superintendent and an associate superintendent of a California education office hostage in late November of 1998. The standoff resulted in police killing the parent, who had a gun and seven bomb devices as a part of his siege.

Ten bombs, fireworks strapped to aerosol cans, forced the closure of a California elementary school.

One Maryland school district experienced more than 150 bomb threats and 55 associated arrests in one school year.

Up to a pound of ammonium nitrate was brought to school by a Nevada middle-school student.

Eight boys confessed to making three homemade bombs, two of which were placed at a Minnesota elementary school.

there aren't actually bombs at schools daily.

And you had to go all the way back to 1999 to find one that went off and there were no fatalities. Wouldn't it be nice if you had to go that far back to find a case where someone used a gun in a school?

It's just sad we live in a world were a few mentally ill people can cause you and I to lose freedoms. Is there anyone on this board who owns a gun, and knows how to use one that would be ok with the government banning guns?

I never said there were bombs in schools daily. Want to put more words in my mouth?

and now time for some more stats
United States Intentional Homicides rate 4.2, Switzerland .7 , UK 1.2 so someone explain to me why in a place where guns are practically required for young men in their twenties has a lower murder rate than UK. Japan is .3.

Now to get to Japans level of gun control you need to take away certain freedoms. such as privacy, due process and complete government control of the population.

of course Japan also disarmed their samurai swords but have mostly benefited from having a very robust economy for quite awhile

Meanwhile looking at crim rates the Us ranks #1 . with 11 million crimes(352 million). UK is 2nd with over 6 million(62 million) and japan is 6th with 2.8 million (126 million) Swizerland 300 thousand crimes (7 million). Switzerland has also began a proces of decriminalizing drug offenses with a program more treatment and less on jail sentences.

Ultimately as a Society Citizen gun ownership is a deterrent for many things. America is also a frontier country that has been

Then when you look at size. United States is 30 square kilometers per 1000 people that is the largest area per population of any country with more than 100 million people excluding Brazil and russia both of which the USA has a 2 to1 population ratio.

that goes into enforceability. 24 million of the the united states population live in a city of of a million or more. 82 % overall of the Unites states is considered in urban areas. thats 55 million in rural areas where gun control laws are difficult to enforce.

In comparison to Japan and UK the USA not only has a considerably larger per 1000 people urban population but the Unites states has over 55 million living in rural areas.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_number_of_police_officers

law enforcement in the united states would need to at least quadruple to even come close to have similar results as UK(whose more than 100 per100000 advantage along with a significant per square kilometer advantage doesnt seem to help their crime rates.)and Japan.

Ps Japans suicide rate is double the Unites states.

Too much of that goes on (reading comprehension).

"All the way back to 1999"...Yea, because 13 years ago is soooooooo long ago.

There is some great reading in this thread, but there is also some ridiculous banter - borderline laughable.

Again, there were no fatalities.

Like there would be some sort of outbreak of bomb attacks if guns were reduced or banned, I can barely even say that aloud without laughing at how ridiculous that sounds.

Conservative fantasy land.

I hate to break it to you, but that's exactly what would happen. I'm laughing at you laughing lol. It would take forever (or never) to reduce or ban guns, firstly. Secondly, criminals will still get them. Thirdly, the upstanding, law-abiding citizen doesn't get the chance to protect children (or themselves) at a time when shit hits the fan....now we wait for police to send your daughter home in a body bag. Lastly, the fact there were no fatalities in the 1 instance mentioned is fortunate.

You're the one living in a fantasy land, b00bie....a media fed, corrupted safebox where our ideologies are changing before our very eyes and we don't even see it.

I'm starting to see a pattern. Those who are alphas...and those who are pawns. IMHO, each of us can fit under 1 of those categories. I'll leave you to think.
