Well I guess they aren't casserole people any more, but that's what I grew up with a lot. I don't mind casseroles, they are kinda comfort foody and I make one every now and then. Cream of chicken soup, frozen broccoli, milk, chicken, rice, and cheese and topped with more cheese and crushed crackers...yum.
I like making lasanga, I do one for Christmas Eve every year, but i go all out and it ends up being like 40 bucks. Sauce from scratch, fresh mozzarella, etc. Ends up being like 40 bucks.
I think I'm going to do rice bowls with grilled shrimp and/or steak then have all sorts of toppings...shredded cabbage, corn, black beans, pico, avacoda-ranch sauce, srirachi, etc. So they can spice it up as much (or as little) as they want.
