How to IMPROVE RCF?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Don't think I didn't realize that... I know more about this site than some people think...

I know how difficult it is to maintain such forums, since every site on the internet that has Cavs History usually doesn't get updated for weeks, months, maybe years.

But I'm not as interested in maintaining updates as I am in having historical articles/periodicals made by the posters here that remembered events from the past. Something to reminisce on for people who didn't know what it was like, being at a game or interacting with a legend.

If there were stat problems, just get rid of any stats and link to the most updated stats sites.

Hell, if making a history section is too difficult (understandably so), at least make an official "History About Any Cavs Moment/Player/Coach" in the Team Talk Thread...

Eh, I guess I like history too much. If you did have a history section, I would probably regulate it alone. If it didn't work out, close it.

But is there some way to put some organized history into the forum again? Something small would be nice so it doesn't fill up with those cobwebs again. You, being the site maintainer, I'd like to hear your additional thoughts, Glen.

Thanks for whatever you can come up with, because it just isn't easy being an administrator on a giant forum (or a graphic designer, or a web designer updating the site for many years).

what I wish were easier is keeping up with the rumors in the rumors section. I can only check the site every now and again and it's hard to follow new rumors when everything is lumped together and you have to go through like 15 pages of chatter by members to see if there is anything new. There should be like a sticky on the top of that forum that is closed only to sourced rumors with the attached article.

It may be confusing, what I'm describing, but let's say there is a blurb about the Cavs going after Troy Murphy in the Indy Star this morning. Stick that link and blurb in this stickyed thread and discuss it in the Troy Murphy thread. It's alot easier to follow than to have to sort through that thread every day to see if there is anything new.

It's also good because it cuts out all the wishes and stupid trade ideas and is only for sourced material.

I still miss the little icons that tell you if you posted in a thread before or not.

I look at this site a lot on my Ipod touch and the thing at the bottom that showed the threads with the most recent posts. It made it easy to use on my ipod because i could just go directly to the thread.

Not exactly of the utmost importance but it was a helpful feature.

Spelling Test

Make that a mandatory test new posters should have to take.

Seriously? From you?

I think I've seen you misuse your/you're and there/their/they're multiple times in one sentence alone. If that was a mandatory test to join RCF your ass would be on Cavsfanatic.

In the last few days we've had new posters with less than 5 posts, make new threads with crazy ESPN trade machine ideas. Can we put that post limit in order to make a thread rule back on?

More promotion for "Around The Rim" :D

I couldn't resist ;)

and while we are at it ban chris bosh?

I'd just like a reading comprehension test before people are allowed to join.

Maybe make an NBA/Cavs quiz to get into the board before they join?

i'd def say locking the "New Thread" feature until a person has a certain amount of posts. Hell, I used to start the most useless threads, but then I quit, started just viewing what people were saying, and i would post comments to what they started. It made me better all around on RCF. I wouldn't mind having a timestamp on the post's. I'm looking forward to the new updates with the vBulletin 4.0, I checked it out yesterday.

How about a countdown box for certain *ahem* dates on the calendar..?
