Iman Shumpert: Gone! Thank God!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Just...stupid.

Shumpert is the type of guy that you want as a role player on a Finals team. Unfortunately with the injuries, our role players were forced into featured roles and the end of our bench was forced to be role players. It's a situation that literally no team in the NBA can or ever has overcome.

Back to Shump - when our team is healthy, he has a defined role and plays it very well. I'm a fan.

He does need to work on that finish though!
I honestly believe the finishing was due to him extending his arm in a direction that caused discomfort.

Nobody was forcing anybody to play any role?

I think the message that was coveyed was "Next Man Up". Shumpert didn't want anything to do with that message, apparently.

He's been synonymous with not being able to finish since his rookie year as a Knick, just go back and ask some of their fans what irritated them so much about Shumpert. He never learned how to finish.

It's pretty much the story of his life. I hope to never see him barring a Cavaliers jersey ever again in my life.

Totally. I mean shutting down Kyle Korver and Klay Thompson in consecutive series' with one leg and one arm is not wanting anything to do with that message.

Your problem seems to be because he didn't drop 25 per game, he shrank. Iman has never averaged over 9 points per game his entire career. Your expectations are probably just stupid.

Things that pop up in my head when I think of Shumpert;

-Can't finish
-Can't finish
-Can't finish
-Starts good
-Can't finish

...so basically he's trash.

Astounding how many bunnies he misses. And I never understand why he doesn't just dunk the ball. He's athletic enough - why always lay it up?

To be fair, he has missed his fair amount of dunks. I think he was just exhausted and worn down. He has never had to expend this kind of energy for so long on so many elite players in New York. They never made it past the first round and only got to the post-season once. He'll learn from his experience.

I don't know. I think some of that is drive. If I'm 6'5" and 212, with his ups, I'm dunking every time. We're not asking for the world here.

Yup, because they only play one side of the ball in basketball.

I mean seriously. The guy is still young and has way more motivation to work on his game now that he's playing for a winning team.

I'll take the chance to say that while I myself wondered why he isn't finishing strong(if I was 6'4 + I'd slam on anyone:chuckle:) I have thought maybe he's afraid of taking a hit on that shoulder and/or that bruise is a little more than a bruise and very painful.

I understand he was hurt and played a shit load of minutes but I had visions of Larry Hughes every time he took a jumper or went to the basket
