Iman Shumpert: Gone! Thank God!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
What have you expected from him?
There should be a reason why he was a bench player in a lottery team as NY!
Shumpert is this, an awful player with a decent defense game and a very limited offensive skills!

Maybe try watching the NBA first before making stupid comments.

His finishing skills have been pretty good since coming over from NY. I honestly think he finishes better when met at the rim with size. When GS goes small, I think its just a situation where he expects being met at hoop with size but there in nothing there. He gets to the rim really well, but he's just finishing like hell. He just needs to gather himself a bit better and finish with more control to finish play.

We cannot win this series without solid play from Shumpert, so the only thing we can hope for is a more confident and secure Iman. And by confidence I mean a guy who believes he can finish at rim no matter what meets him at rim.

Shumpert has had no trouble putting clamps on Curry and Thompson this series, thats more than a "decent defensive player"

He had a Kyrie-esque move to the basket tonight, and then just completely blew the layup. It was a gimme too. Incredible move though, damn.

Shump had a few mental mistakes defensively but the kid has fought through injuries all playoffs and gives 100%. When you have to chase Klay Thompson all over the court it is going to effect your shooting ability. The kid goes hard.

Shump's on ball defense is as good as anyone in the league besides probably Kwahi. But his help defense and off ball defense is quite average. He has to improve those aspects and he will be an All-NBA calibre defensive player.

As for his finishing around the rim and shooting, well, that has been horrible but I am assuming his shoulder is still paining and that could affect his shooting rhythm. It was pretty much the same when he came back from the injury initially as well. Took him some weeks before he found his rhythm.

If he historically was a good shooter or finisher maybe the shoulder injury would be an excuse, but that's not the case

I love Shumpert, and want him on this team for a very long time.

With that said, he looks better off the bench. Need to find a younger JR Smith to fill the void as the starting SG. Almost like what Anthony Parker was for us years ago. Tristan is going to get a lot more playing time and we need to make sure to space the floor. Either that, or Iman needs to shoot 3s everyday this summer.

We're done then.

He's 24 years young. He will get better and better. Shooting will improve. You can bet he works on his shooting these next 2 months. He plays great D. He will improve this as well...if that's even possible. Let's not forget this guy was playing with a very sore shoulder AND pulled groin for the entire series.

Cavs need to sign up Shump for the very long term.

Mo Shumpert.

I like the guy but man did he pull a Mo Williams in the Finals. Missed FTs, missed layups, missed wide open 3s, dribbling off his foot. Hopefully he doesn't let the pressure of the Finals get to him next time.

Wow, a lot of people letting themselves pigeonhole guys based on their Finals performance. Shump played really well in the playoffs overall. He played great defense and hit a lot of 3s. He took over JR's starting job in the Chicago series and earned the right to keep it.

Then, after multiple injuries, he had a lousy Finals. I think he's the exact 3&D SG we need in the starting lineup. If he's next to a healthy Irving it will all work out.
