Would Sacramento accept Waiters, Zeller, and the Miami pick for Cousins? I wouldn't if I were them, but we don't have many other tradeable assets.

1. No. This team is being built on good guys with no warts.
2. Yes. They have the assets to make a deal even without Andy, although the price would be high.

the kings don't really need another ball dominant guard.

though they are still owned by the maloofs so you probably can't put any deal totally off the table.

As a Kings fan (Pretty soon to not have a team anymore if this Seattle move goes through) I can tell you Petrie would love Waiters, he would have drafted him if the Cavs didn't swoop him up. He loves his scoring guards. Its why he drafted Quincy Douby (Out of the league),Tyreke Evans and Jimmer. Iam sure if you offered Waiters,Zeller, and a 1st he would take it and probably give you more because he feels he is fleecing you but in reality is giving up a Star Center. This is coming from the same team that moved down in the draft to acquire Salmons. (one of the worst moves Ive ever seen.)

Also keep in mind that the Maloofs control (controlled?) alot of what Petrie does in his moves. They will do anything to save money and this would save them a contract extension of Cousins. Its the sad fact of being controlled by the Maloofs.

I was going to reply, "Well, at least you won't have to deal with them much longer," but that would have been mean.

I began drooling dreaming of teaming Cousins with his size, jumpshot, and post play being next to Tristan with his defense and rebounding. I'm probably alone in thinking this but if we get a pick outside the top 3 and aren't sure we're getting a sure fire stud of a big man, I'd move the pick to get Cousins. The dude not only fits well with Thompson but he's a great post passer which would open all kinds of lanes for Waiters and Irving to work out of.

I'm with you. It's a risk, but I think it's the kind of risk that if it pays off, your a contender.

The kid is a legit headcase. Plain and simple. But if you believe that you have the type of locker room that can handle him, you do it. I truly believe that in a few years he will be the best offensive big in the league. Huge fan of his game.

Don't think the Cavs do it though, and you can't blame them.

Cousins is a crazy monster with skills. I probably like watching Cousins play a lot more because he is some other team's responsibility. Not sure whether I would want to have to accept all the bad and crazy parts (the technicals, the loose screws, the feeling he is going to commit a felony any moment) as a member of the Cavs, although his frequently overly physical play is something the Cavs lack. This is one personnel move I am happy is someone else's decision.

Earlier in this thread I believe I said "no fucking way." But I'm changing my mind. Cousins may be the best Center in this league in a couple years, I truly believe that. His overall skillset is incredible, and he has the size of an old-school center. He and Byron Scott would not come close to working out, however. And we wold have to start winning soon to make him happy. If we could get him to buy in, and combine that with a winning culture, a young core of Kyrie, Waiters, Thompson and Cousins would be absolutely ridiculous. And that's not including our upcoming draft pick and our potential FA signings.

As for what I'd be willing to give up for him, that is the tough part. I'm sure Sacramento's asking price will be very high. I'd be hopeful they would take Varejao, our 2014 pick, and some nice contracts/other picks we have for Cousins and a salary dump player or two. But they could easily demand for Waiters or Tristan, and idk if that would really be worth it.

it would be worth giving up Waiters IMO only if we can keep this years lotto pick, replacing him with Shabazz or mclemore could even be a step up. I love almost everything about waiters, but you cannot pass up on DMC..especially if we can easily replace waiters

KI/Livingston
Shabazz/Mclemore/Boobie
LBJ/Gee
TT/Jones?
DMC/AV

dayum. shooting for the stars there, i know..but come on! surely KI, TT and AV (even walton and obviously LBJ [if we play the "if" game a lot here]) are better influences on DMC than tyreke evans and the young bigs on that roster. Hell, even without LBJ we could land some sort of a small forward if we really tried..lord knows Miles was a lack of effort on the FO's part (by design or not, we didnt try too hard to find a decent SF)

@mr_jasonjones: Cousins on the team: "I can’t keep blaming it on myself."

The guy is begging to get out of Sacramento....

Get him to Cleveland, asap. Although Byron is known to be tough, but he's also an NBA champion and a strong communicator...so he has instant credibility. I think he, Kyrie, and Tristan can keep the big boogie in check..... I'm sure I'm in the minority here, though.

I find it unnecessary that his head coach has singled him out, fair or unfairly, to the media, which i think is kind-of a no no for a coach (it should always be about the team, not the individual) so it might not be all of DMC's fault. Coach Cal and John Wall kept him in check at UK, just see a similar situation here......

Sacramento is a mess right now. But at the same time Cousins is making it worse. I don't want a team full of choir boys. But there is a difference between a tough player and a team cancer. Cousins is a team cancer who has been poorly developed and managed as a young player. Cousins is like the divorced spouse who had a bad relationship. It doesn't make him a bad person but it at the same time he has a lot of baggage and bringing him into a new family will be difficult, even impossible.

Disagree. Never been with a coach tough and strong enough to dish it and take it. No doubt he has baggage but I'd be willing to bet a hefty amount of money that he won't nearly be as detrimental to his next team......

Re: Tracking the 2013 Draft Picks

I wouldn't touch Cousins... he is an ignorant motherfucker IMO...sorry I watch a ton of hoop and nobody rubs me the wrong way more than Cousins...he is a fuckin immature crybaby that needs his ass whipped...JMO...I'd give up a shitload for Love though...he is a stud ...and Uncle Drew and Wes get buckets!
