J.J. Hickson Summer League Highlights

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Dang...

Chris Paul, Lebron James, JJ Hickson.

That could have been our super trio. Too bad.

Let's not forget that this is summer league defense...and most importantly...JJ WAS NAILING HIS JUMPER LAST OFFSEASON TOO.

I'm excited for him, but until he brings it to the real game, I'm not getting excited...

Promising, but again, it is the Summer League. Not expecting a whole lot out of him this season, but I definitely think he's growing into a solid player.

I don't buy that argument a whole lot. Yes, the competition is weak so his numbers were quite bloated.

However, his post moves and jump shot are learned traits that he did not possess last season - things he's worked on and will be there no matter what competition he faces. These are things he's added to his arsenal that will contribute to a potential break-out year.

JJ? Is that really you?

Glad to see that baby fat is still gone, and that he can bend over the whole way for loose rebounds. That used to be a major problem for him. Looks like he's really improved his handle by letting the game come to him, instead of dribbling head down. He definitely has a couple of Lebron's moves integrated in there, mostly pivot foot stuff.

He looks amazing. Anyone else see how if he gets the ball near the rim he's immediately going up with it? Hes not pulling the ball out and taking more time.. Very good to see from JJ.

He almost always does that and it actually kinda bothers me because he loses some force this way. Most low-post scorers establish their footing first. Shaq, Howard, Al Jeff, and Amare gather under the basket first then they go up full force and finish strong. I always wanted Jj to be that but we could probably put him on the Lamarcus Aldridge/David West mode, big finesse players with good footwork. Although with Jjs athleticism, anything is possible I guess.

The first time I saw him drain that little 15 foot jumper in the summer league vs the d-league team, I jizzed and thought about Amare, fucking Amare.

Can't wait to see J.J. develop from here.

He looks fantastic. 0:52-0:59 he plays 3-on-1 ball. If he can carry this into the season and keep building up his frame, he's going to be dominant.

Making my 20 and 10 prediction look pretty good. If he keeps getting better, the sky is the limit.
