No, Mitchell is our MVP too....but if we had a co-MVP it would then be Allen.

Both have been incredible over the last 1.5 months.
Really its Jerome for giving so many other players opportunities to show how good they are. He died so that Merrill and Porter could live.

The reason I have Allen as MVP is that if Mitchell is out we have Garland. We beat Philly without Mitchell, LeVert and Okoro.

No chance we beat Philly without Allen.

I don’t think Evan is ready to be our 5. Physical centers bother him. They bother Allen also but not as much.

But I have no problem with Mitchell as MVP. I just think Allen has been grossly underrated. I also think he was struggling mentally and emotionally like many big men do. Expectations on big men are always high. My favorite example is Kareem playing the co-pilot in “Airplane!” Mitchell and Hartenstein are big, physical and mobile and many other teams have dudes like that.

The rest of the team needs to make sure Allen and also Mobley get proper care. Involve them in the offense, get them easy buckets, show a lot of love because their dirty work in the paint makes the defense happen which is the key to our team. We need to keep Allen smiling, because when he’s smiling the team is always in a good place.

We've won more games this season without Donovan playing than without Allen playing...so yeah I agree with you

Has he been voted an all-star reserve yet?

nail on the head.

Allen is head and shoulders straight out BETTER than he was last season, and a large part of it is his shifting role on offense. He has also been better defensively even if we're not getting all those eye-catching blocks. He is more decisive with the ball (also true of Mobley) and the stats aren't an accident.

Really happy to see what he's done this season.

I dont think he will make the all star game. I think the numbers arent there. I obviously feel he deserves it, but looking at who else is up for the reserves, he might just miss out.

I think he might eventually get in because there are always injuries. It’s how he got in the first time. Hopefully recency bias impacts how the coaches voted.

Any word on Allen's injury? Surprised no mention of it.
We can't possibly believe that there's anyone else on the team who will replace what Allen's been doing for us lately.

Embiid (sorry about your season tickets, @2 For The Brew!) and Randle look likely to miss the all-star game, and others could also get hurt between now and then, so there will be a chance. With the game in Indy, Silver may be give one spot to Siakam or Turner.

I heard speculation today he might want Scotty Barnes to pull in Canada. I do think extra consideration should be given to the host city if it’s a close call.

Yeah. But if the host city already has one player in the game and there are better teams that also have one player, this should factor in as well.

With Embid out, they will need a replacement named for the all star game. All I hear from the national media is Porzingis is a lock. Is he really having a better year than Jarrett? He's got 4 ppg more, but 4 rpg less. He's a slightly better shot blocker, but Jarrett is a more efficient scorer, better passer, and much more versatile defender. Plus, that would give the Celtics 3 all stars vs. the Cavs getting 1.

He plays in Boston and not Cleveland

Yeah, he’s a Celtic, he’s more famous, and they’re the top team in the east, wouldn’t be surprised to see Allen get snubbed.
