Do Not Sell My Personal Information
His approach at the plate needs to change. I hate his damn leg kick. Drop a curveball in for strike 1 every time and he'll be down in the count early. He's too selective at the plate so he walks a lot (good) but he tries to hit everything else out of the park which is why his average will never be great.

Again, which doesn't matter for reasons you mention in this post...he walks a lot. I don't give 2 shits about his average, cause he gets on base at a the rate of a .280-.290 hitter. Case in point why batting average means jack shit; Dee Gordon is currently hitting .334, compared to Santana's .227...Santana gets on base at a .360 clip, Dee Gordon at a .355 clip.

I do agree with his approach at the plate when hitting though. He's at his best when he goes gap to gap...he gets pull happy way too much. Another reason why I want a new hitting coach and a new voice in his head about this issue.

I was just joking about Santana. He's been mediocre this year, but if he can return to form, I'll be more than pleased with his production.

I'll take .240/.360/.440

The drop in power is really all that's been different about him this year, and that's been killer

OBP is wildly overrated. Singles are more valuable than walks.

Santana has been a disappointment, no other way to put it though. He should have taken the next step, and its so disappointing he hasn't.

If he doesn't pull himself together next year, the Indians will probably trade him.

It pisses me off that he's wasting his talent, when he should be better than he has been at this point.

Look at the home run he hit last night, he has serious power, and should be a much bigger run producer than he has been.

I thought for sure he was going to finally maximize his ability this year, and he's regressed.

Maybe a new hitting coach is needed, because if you can get his head screwed on right, he could do big things.

20 years ago to the day, the Indians had two of the greatest hitters of all time in the same lineup batting 5 and 6 in Manny and Thome.

They had a guy who had a 50HR/50 2B year batting cleanup who would be a sure-fire HOF'er if he wasn't suck a cock to the media.

They also had two borderline hall of famers, multi-year all stars and gold glovers in Lofton and Alomar.

They had sure-fire HOF'er Omar Vizquel batting second.

And finally, they had two borderline HOF pitchers in Denny Martinez and Hershiser.

Now they have a bunch of guys batting under .240, the team HR leader has 12 and two very good contact hitters.

They also have one excellent pitcher and a couple of guys who are above average.

People need to get to more games.

Steroids also needs to make a return to baseball.

Agree wholeheartedly.

Cause what's more exciting than a bunch of doubles off the wall and warning track flyouts?

Add roids back into the game and Santana has ok power.

Tito needs to stop playing Jerry against the right handers.

Yeah it makes no sense, especially since Francona loves platoon guys so much. Just give Ty Holt some burn.

Would make sense for the OF to go Brantley, Bourn, Lonnie against righties and Brantley, Holt, Sands against lefties from here on out.

Jerry against left handers 8-22 (.364)
Jerry against right handers 3-16 (.188)

Not his fault Tito doesn't know how to use him.
