Joe "Captain America" Harris

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Because Austin Carr called him smokin' Joe Harris can we amend the title

they need to really think about starting joe harris

his defense is decent and marion should be backing up lebron

if lebron is going to play less minutes, marion should be out there

11 man rotation

kyrie/delly
harris/dion/miller
lebron/marion/miller
love/tt/lebron or marion
andy/tt/love

Marion should be at the 3 spot and not guarding 2's.
I think Blatt can use Harris a lot more .
Having Dion out changed that rotation.

This is what good teams do - allow role players to really shine. See: San Antonio Spurs.

I don't see how Harris doesn't have Millers minutes soon. Scary to think if not for injuries we'd never had gotten to see Joe yet

He's going to struggle on defensive end because he lacks the height to guard SFs and the quickness to guard most 2s. Nevertheless he seems to understand what to do on both sides f the ball and really moves the ball well on offense. As he gets acclimated I think he could be an invaluable part of the Blatt offense. Though it has the potential to be a defensive nightmare, I like the idea of Harris and Miller together. Both MUST be accounted for on the perimeter and both are heady passers. You'll really see some ball movement then, some flailing closeouts from the opposing D and wide open threes and dumps to guys open in the paint.

Thank goodness this guy fell to the 2nd round.. he's a steal, and the perfect player to compliment a team full of stars. He just knows where to be and how to play the game right.. and oh ya can shoot lights out and even put the ball on the deck. This is a great example of an injury sometimes being a blessing. At this rate Joe will be a fixture in the rotation.

Joe had some nice minutes last night. He missed the "watch the crowd explode" three in the fourth last night- actually missed it pretty bad. But he looked like he belongs on an NBA court.

I have a feeling Dion is going to be out of town come the trade deadline. Joe's growth will help lead to that result.

Joe has that "plays defense in a pickup game guy" attitude in him.

But honestly, the best thing I saw from him, on an offensive side, was that the ball never sticks in his hands. The one time he did decide to dribble, he used it for a purpose and drove his man to the basket for a bucket.

Solid, solid role player. Good form, lightening quick release on his shot. Give him some more minutes, please.

He reminds me a little of Danny Green, a guy I always thought was going to be a great role player who we let get away. Brown was so bad at developing talent. Green is a better shooter and probably a better all around player but Harris has some of the same skills and he gives you the same sense that he's just a reliable guy to have out there who will make the right decisions on the court.

Perfect complementary player for a loaded starting lineup. Never forces anything that disrupts the flow and just knows his limitations and just does what is necessary. Love to have this kid.

We shall see as the season goes on how he develops but what it shows to me is we have a GM that can evaluate talent later in the 1st round and 2nd. I remember Griff stated he had him rated as 1st round talent after the draft and we would love this kid. It is only one pick and we don't have many picks in the future but the ones we do have we will have to get good value out of them and hopefully this is a good sign. Go Joe!!

Am I the only one that thinks its crazy to start harris? It makes sense to me rotation wise. Marion, TT, Dion and Miller make up a bench that knows how to score, shoot and rebound. Harris is the role player the big 3 really need at sg to make the shots work.

I'd like to see him prove himself a bit more before throwing him to the wolves with the starting line-up. He just logged his first meaningful NBA minutes last night. He looked good, but we need a larger sample size. Hopefully he starts getting some rotation minutes, though, so we can get that sample size.

I think coming off the bench is more to the wolves on this team to be honest. I don't disagree with your point, just think limited starter minutes, ie 20 or so, might be perfect.

Always irks me to read things like this. We did not "let" Danny Green get away, he played himself out of town. Hell, he played himself out of San Antonio before his current stint.
