although if he doesn take first team snaps next week. that doesnt bode well for the QB coach to be ignored.

If Manziel continues to look as good or better than Hoyer . its gonna create division in the locker room.

Plenty of reports saying Hoyer clearly out in front, despite the claims of "open" competition to keep people like you happy. :chuckles:

Heard that Johnny started off with the 1's, just to expound on the statement above. Was taking snaps from Mack before stretching.

Mingo hinted that Johnny had some protection issues on Saturday, as well. Instead of getting excited about Manziel, I'm wondering what's going on with Hoyer.

People tend to forget that Hoyer is an undrafted career backup who had 3 "not terrible" games last season.

Manziel should be expected to win the job over him as a first rounder IMO. Especially with Hoyer coming off an injury.

He's a nice guy, probably a great leader, but bottom line is that Hoyer is probably below-average in terms of ability by NFL standards.

key point is Manziel will get some 1st team reps before the 1st preseason game.

Hoyer didnt exactly take over the world against the 2nd team defense in saturdays scrimmage making one wonder how much a factor is hoyers performance against the 1st team a matter of familiarity.

Manziel als wasnt the one making red zone turnovers.

Will be interesting to see how much overreaction comes from a move they've already told everyone not to overreact to.

Either way, I'd expect Hoyer to be starting until he proves he no longer can.

you knoew full well that the Browns wouldnt be moving Manziel to the first team reps until this week then post a reply about him not taking any first team reps last week. perhaps it is you who should stop.

I am glad to see Manziel getting first team reps its the only way the Browns can accurately compare and contrast the two.

Maybe Johnny learns best after making a mistake.. Coaches would be inclined to up a guy's reps if he shows marked improvement after making mistakes under any circumstance. It could also be nothing and probably is standard just to get him acclimated to the speed of the game.
