Johnny Manziel: Swan Won't Return His Calls

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
From MMQB

MANZIEL’S TRADE VALUE. I’m curious if you think Jerry Jones can or will try for Johnny Manziel now? Think the Cowboys could get him from Cleveland for a fourth-round pick?

—Kris, Renfrew, Ontario

Probably, but in my opinion, Manziel is not worth a fourth-round pick right now. The only way I would pay anything for Manziel now is if he could exhibit some sort of track record over a period of months or a year that showed he truly is a changed person. Until then, any pick shy a sixth or a seventh to me would be too risky.

Maybe we should post this tweet in a few more threads?

At least he didn't say, "I'm not thinking about the quarterback situation."

:chuckle:

I think it's applicable to all three threads I posted it in.

I'm over the moon that our former first round draft pick is making the rounds at the children's hospital......

......as part of his alcohol rehabilitation efforts.

Doing his part to boost his trade value from "Cancerous" to "Non-factor". He must want out just as bad as we want him out.

Meanwhile, Joe Thomas continues his rampage...preying on the weak and defenseless

My most optimistic take on this Mack quote would be Joe Thomas and Alex Mack doing a little "Good cop Bad cop" routine with offensive leadership. There is a doubtless void in leadership with the offensive side of the ball, with new coaches and no skill position players who have been here more than one season. The only non-offensive lineman expected to get playing time who has been here for more than one season is...

Anyone? Anyone?

Correct, Mr. Gary Barnidge. No, I refuse to recognize Benjamin as a contributor next year. I need to work Barnidge in here somewhere.

If this thing is going to get turned around, the offense needs the kind of leadership I see five or six defensive players filling. I know the offensive line has been tight on and off the field for a long time.

My pessimistic take is that Thomas was honest and Mack is covering his ass.

Mack is covering his ass

Maybe he just likes the way Johnny fondles him.

In all seriousness though, your analysis does a great job of pointing out the dire amount of turnover we've had on that side of the ball. Flip is going to have a lot of work ahead of him to get those guys to rally around him or the general direction of the offense.
