The basic template they go by, though it's not set in stone, is:

1st offense: 50 game suspension

2nd offense: 100 game suspension

3rd offense: Lifetime

If I were Braun, I wouldn't care. 20M a year. You want to stop steroids in baseball?

First offense: 1 year & no hall of fame. I would add a segment to Cooperstown called the wall of shame and post their names on the wall. People would be allowed to color/spit/ect on this wall. It would be cleaned once a year for one day to add names and the defecation of the wall would then commence again.
Second: Lifetime ban, no guaranteed money if caught second time.

Exactly why he didnt appeal. Some players will if they're in a tight playoff race to help their team get into the playoffs while some won't if they're out of it or if they have a good chance to play in they playoffs if they get a 50 game ban and can come back in September. Not sure how they don't Pete Rose ban A-Rod if he is on the list.

He's losing less than 2 percent of his career earnings and gets to skip the second half of a shitty Brewers season. But what else can you do?

Didn't Aaron Rodgers go off on twitter last year about this? Saying he was innocent and going at ESPN/MLB network for reporting it. Even think he said he'd put his salary on it that he never used ped's :chuckles:

Second recorded offense (albeit one before the inception of the current policy) had better warrant more than 50 games.
