Josh Gordon discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Wallace was a 3rd round pick, not a 5th. Brown was a 6th rounder.

Remember, Mangini screwed up by picking both Mass and Robiskie in the second, when the better receiver in Wallace was available in the third.

That makes me want to vomit.

If Bridgewater is a really a franchise QB (I'm not sold he is to be honest), then you don't think twice about it. The star player on the team is always the QB, if he's actually good that is. Look at the Broncos, Thomas is arguably the second best receiver in the NFL, Welker, Julian Thomas, those guys are all pro bowl caliber players. Even Decker is explosive. But its all about Peyton Manning. Patriots the same. Gronk is a beast, probably the best tight end in football. They were winning games without him, because of that Tom Brady guy.

I get your point though Binkster, you don't want to be stripping away skilled players when bringing in a young QB. But QB > WR all day. As great as Gordon has been, we are still horrible, largely because of the QB play. That's how non-valuable his position is in comparison to the QB. If we just had a semi-decent one we'd be winning this division, instead of sitting dead last.

I think this is my point. normally you wouldn't trade the number one pick for a wide receiver, regardless of greatness. But, noone thinks bridgewater is the next dominant quarterback. This could be the browns only chance to take a shot at a top quarterback.

Browns fans have gotten so used to having no impact players, that once they have one they want him traded away.

Guy's on his way to becoming a top 3 WR...let's trade him away for a draft pick!

Drooling right now thinking how good Bridgewater's gonna look throwing the ball to Greg Little and Davone Bess!!!!

Based on the stat book, he's already top 2.

I must have been looking at years pro or something. But I digress... Impressive nonetheless what Pittsburgh has been able to find in the deeper rounds.

Who wants him gone? Also, I'd be shocked if the Browns somehow got Bridgewater. I'd be pretty upset if they traded up for Carr, but I don't know shit...

I throw up the white towel.

I don't care what name they draft at QB. I think college QBs are more or less a crap shoot when it comes to making the leap to the NFL. What is important is the Browns need to get it right. We honestly can't afford to miss again.

If they feel the need to trade up for Carr or Bridgewater, great, but they better be right. If they draft Hundley or McCarron, that's fine too, but they better be right.

Can't. Afford. To Miss. Period.

Which is why in a deep QB class (although we may not have the sure-fire Lucks/Griffins here) and with a multitude of picks at our disposal, we need to take two quarterbacks. End of story. Take a page out of Washington's book here.

One in the first, one in the... 3rd? 4th? I don't care where. We should look to enter camp armed with a minimum of 4-5 QBs - None of them named Weeden, Hanie, or Tanney.

... So they can throw it to Gordon.

Edit: Whoops, this is a Josh Gordon thread.

While Carr is a guy I'd really prefer not to trade up for, I'd rather do that than come away without a QB again or even worse, having to settle by reaching for someone else. Remember how disgusting the thought was of "reaching" to take Tannehill at #4? Now, most of us would do it in a heartbeat vs. trading up for the bust of the decade at #3 and flushing #22 down the toilet reaching for Weeden.

I've given up hope that a 1st round QB can be acquired at a spot appropriate to his value. You'll always have to reach. You'll always have to trade up if you're not in position to reach. That's just the nature of the position's value. If Carr is our guy, I say screw it and trade up for him... it's worth the extra pick to be done with this QB carousel of crap.

This QB class has turned disappointing in one fell swoop.

Even Bridgewater hasn't shown the continued progression you hope for as the season has progressed.

The '15 class though? Sweet mother...Mariota, Hundley, Bortles with another year of experience has me fully torqued.

Looking at a veteran substitute this offseason would be a pretty good option, IMO.

Edit: Just realized we're talking about this in the Gordon thread. How did that happen?

Gotta find someone to throw to this guy.

He set records with Weeden, maybe they should give him a fair shot for once.

I've called him the answer since jump street.

You know who didn't get a fair shot? Colt McCoy. He'd look GOOD with Gordon, don't you think Boobs?
