Josh Gordon discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The Josh Gordon situation is so Browns. The Manziel situation is even more Browns.

I don't think Gordon is dogging it. I just think he's an immense physical talent that lacks a WR mentality. He doesn't have the mentality to go get a ball at all costs. Looking back at it, I can't think of any time where I thought he made a difficult catch. I don't know if it's lack or opportunity or on Gordon, but I like to think the mentality is what separates him from a guy like Dez Bryant. Dez will fight for every ball. He will jump to snatch balls from defenders, and he does everything he can to breakup potential interceptions. I need to see Gordon do more of the same, and at least give him the opportunity to make big plays.

I think he is still adjusting after being out of football for ten weeka

What do you people expect? He caught half of the passing yards yesterday.

I see some struggles in route memorization but that's about it. Gordon reached back for a few balls yesterday that shouldn't have even had a chance and he got a hand on it.

If anything, his effort yesterday far surpassed his effort in the previous 3.

It's reasonable to expect Gordon to be rusty. It's also reasonable to expect Gordon to try his hardest. What he's been displaying on the field, unfortunately, isn't that right now. He isn't helping it by saying what we're seeing is his hardest, either.

Cluegiver brings up a great point. Dez looks like he wants to be the best receiver in the NFL. I don't get that feeling watching Gordon this year. But then again not many people in the browns have the enthusiasm i want. Manziel and Hoyer laughing together on the sideline as the bengals beat the crap out of them is unacceptable to me. They should be more upset then I am, although he gets overboard at times I like that Dez is affected by what his team does. I'd like to see Gordon get upset and the next time there's a catch-able ball he attacks it like he wants it more then any other individual on the field.

The biggest difference between Dez Bryant and Josh Gordon isnt their attidue. Its Tony Romo. The guy is number two in quarterback rating for a reason.

Most likely the correct answer here, though I've never been a fan of trying to read players body language on the field as a means for judging heart.

Randy Moss never looked liked he cared. He was a great WR when Tom Brady was throwing to him. He was not great when Andrew Walter/Aaron Brooks/old Kerry Collins were.

The league is so simple.

1)Find Good Quarterback
2) Skip the ???
3) Profit

Just dumbfounds me some franchises can screw it up for 20 years straight.

Maybe Gordon just looks like someone who didn't practice with the team for the majority of the season...

We never heard of any reports of him working with any QB's outside the practice facility. Perhaps he just looked at his stats from last year and thought, "I got this."

If he looks this lost next year, then we have issues. IMO, his on-field issues seem like a product of being unprepared.

Get what you can for him and move on. It's clear he's never going to get it together from a maturity standpoint.

Does this suspension give us an extra year before he hits free agency? If so, brilliant.

I think it does and if so the browns should of been waiting for any mishap to suspended him. They have dealt with too much crap with him to bolt next year with nothing in return. Hopefully now they get two full years to grow him to his potential and then to decide to give him a big contract.
