Josh Gordon discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If this is what they call business then they are REALLY bad at it. All these knuckleheads have costs themselves millions of dollars.

Outside of Snickers, none of Johnny Football's sponsors are using him at all and even Snickers hasn't done anything with the guy recently.

He has almost unmeasurable talent but he's a complete moron. At some point you just have to move on.

Honestly, I would package Gordon and our #12 to move up as high as we can.

Ideally that would get us in the top 5 and we could take Cooper.

At some point you cut your losses. I just don't see what they gain by keeping around a guy who clearly doesn't want to be here. You really think a guy who essentially cost himself millions of dollars but getting suspended- it cost him a year of free agency- has the brains to turn this around? This team is just not equipped to manage sometime like this, milk then for what they can produce then dump them off. Teams like that have a combo of vets, team org, and ruthlessness to be able to utilize someone like him and that just isn't the case here yet.

Getting the feeling I'll be in the vast minority of those saying keep him around.

He's too talented.

Yes, that's somewhat morally reprehensible and hypocritical when thinking about other players who bust their ass.

But talent rules. They'll give him every possible chance to succeed, and I'd argue that next season is probably his last one.

He's got a chance to get a HUGE contract if he plays well in 2015, I don't want that to be anywhere else. Given his cap number, it's more than worth it.

Actually surprised about your take here.

After mulling it over, I have to agree. Rare talent doesn't grow on trees and he's not a very big cap hit at the moment. His trade value couldn't get any lower.

If I'm Farmer, priority 1A is unloading Manziel, not Gordon.

People are yelling for the Browns to cut their losses and get Gordon out of town even if it means a mid round draft pick in return as his value isnt that high. But Gordon and the Browns #12 will land them in the top 5?

Draft value chart is a bit antiquated but it states a mid second could get you from 12 to 5/6.

I would guess there's some bad team out there that would place a second round grade on Gordon, based merely on his talent alone. Coincidentally, the Jets and Redskins are at 5/6, both teams that could use an extra player / picks.

I kind of go back and forth on this but it's tough to build a winning culture IMO with guys like Gordon. His talent is incredible but at some point you have to consider all the other dynamics in play.

I wouldn't give him away but if I could move in to the top 5/6 and replace him with a younger player, without the character flags, I would.

I totally understand the people who want to keep him around but I think it just may be time. He's had multiple chances to prove he's not an idiot and he's thrown away every one.

I don't really give a shit what kind of mistakes he made this season. Need to give him one more year, where he's with the team in game situations in a system that's not completely new to him.

Not even making excuses for him. He's extremely immature at best and a complete moron at worst, but so are a lot of these guys.

I want to see entertaining football. As long as the Browns feel they can manage his idiocy to such an extent he can stay on the field, I want to see him out there getting 60 YAC after catching a 7 yard slant.
