Sorry, I'm a very sympathetic person but that came off as one of the most pathetic displays of passive aggressive excuse making I have ever seen, in the sports world or otherwise. I am embarrassed for Josh Gordon and whoever wrote that for him. I don't know if the guy is an addict or not, maybe he isn't, but he clearly doesn't "get it." At all. The sad part is the guy has been busted so many times and now he comes out with this heartfelt letter meant to get people back on his side. What does he want? A sixth chance? A seventh chance? Jesus. My upbringing was so hard, woe is me, blah blah blah...so many super successful athletes and otherwise who come from the same situations (or worse) as Josh Gordon. There comes a time where you need to step up and take responsibility and do what you have to do. I can give this guy a second chance, a third chance even, but after that it just gets tired.
Look I'm not saying execute the guy or something but there comes a time when you need to pay for your actions. I think he's made enough mistakes to earn whatever is coming to him (ie forced out of the NFL, or whatnot).
Just embarrassed for this man. I'm fine with holding onto him but it wouldn't surprise me if he never plays in the NFL again.
