JR Smith

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Shump should be on Klay all game, since Delly has demonstrated an ability to contain Steph.

Jr Smith should be playing on-the-ball help, with us largely ignoring one of Bogut, Green, Iggy, or Barnes when they go out on the perimeter (they've been hesitant to hoist shots, looking for Steph).

We keep Steph from being efficient, and we win..

This game isn't about JR Smith unloading 3's, it's about keeping the Splash Brothers largely in check and from both going off simultaneously.

Completely agree but they don't have to be mutually exclusive. I think JR is going to have a great night AND they will contain the Stash hoes.

LMFAO!

Sorry man, but I gotta use that now.. Lol @ Stash hoes!!!

Not much talk about JR tonight, but gotta mention he had a very solid game and hit some important shots.
Glad to see JR laying some pipes again and get his groove back.

Im waiting for a big game from JR, a 8/10 from 3p ....Game 4 maybe?!

He needs to get he ball spotting up, his shot creation is good but these GS defenders can make any shot after he puts the ball on the floor difficult. I'd live with more deep threes off the catch than shallower threes off the dribble.

We need a special game from JR in Game 4. He had special games against the Bulls and Hawks. We need him to step up because GS is not going to lie down easily in Game 4 and we can't depend on Delly to get 20 every game.

I don't know if it has to be Game 4 but for us to win this series I firmly believe we will need on NBA Jam ON FIRE JR Smith game. He's done it in the playoffs consistently for about 2 games but we just need one from him. With Lebron he can get us one more win but we're going to need one of these to step but and it it's JR he usually will put enough to win it for us

We're still going to need a game where JR goes crazy from 3.

I really wish LeBron would let JR run some pick and roll's with him, but with the ball in JR's hands.

Let him try to get a rhythm.

JR started off hot this game but like in game 1, he couldn't maintain it. I think he got benched too in the 4th after that ill advised 3 with 7 seconds left in the shot clock. Good thing is that the Cavs are still up 2-1 despite JR Smith struggling

I appreciate his effort on both sides of the court, he really puts everything out there, but god damnit we need him to ease the load off Lebron on offense, wake up buddy.

I think that one of the reasons a. Delly can shine and score and b. We can collect offensive rebounds, is due to GS putting a lot of emphasis on JR. I noticed they are guarding him super tight, to not let him any easy catch and shoots.
Every time he gets the ball a defender is up in his grill, and he has to put the ball down or pass it.
That allows us to have great spacing, allows even Delly to cut inside, and allows Tristan and Moz to crash the boards. Also leaving less players available to help on LBJ when he posts or drives.

So JR might be relatively quiet on offense, but his presence helps us a lot.
And the second GS leaves this strategy of guarding him close and allows him to catch and shoot, he is going to lay the pipe so bad, we will actually see players crying.

He just wasn't getting the damn ball later in the game. Nobody was.

I know people keep making this argument that milking the clock is great and prevents GS from getting out on the break. I really get that.

But at the same time, Golden State was making that run when the Cavs were in clock milk mode because the Cavs couldn't score.

Instead of bogging down and milking the clock, why not move the ball around? Make the extra pass. If you make 3-4 passes on the perimeter with Bron, Shump, Delly, JR or Jones on the floor there's going to be a three pointer at some point.

You're not maximizing JR if you're never giving him any catch and shoot attempts.

I still feel we have a JR game where he cant miss and basically wins it by himself left in him for this series. The fact we have won 2 already without this happening is a fantastic sign.
