J.R. Smith fought some cramping issues tonight, which might explain his rough 3 of 10 shooting night after he made his first two shots (both 3-pointers). Similarly, Richard Jefferson’s x-ray on his right ankle was negative after he twisted it early in the fourth quarter. He left the game and did not return. Jefferson will be re-evaluated Saturday and is considered questionable for now.
"Ab cramps."
Oh lord contract year JR might have gotten us. It's early, so let's hope not.

This year is SIGNIFICANTLY more of a contract year for him than last year was. Your post doesn't really make much sense in that regard.
I'd love to see your logic here.
Last year he had zero money guaranteed for the following season (this season). This season, he's got at least some guaranteed money next year. So in what way is this year more of a contract year than last, let alone "SIGNIFICANTLY" more?
To quote Windhorst, "Smith has guarantee dates and incentives in deal that make it likely he will get full salary. But it is overall an unusual contract." So I have to say I just flat out disagree with your post above. Just not true at all.
I think he's getting at the fact that JR did not do any favors for his market value last season, and, on top of the fact that the cap is going up so much, those two things combined give JR the opportunity to get much more money for more years than what he's currently getting.

This quote from that article makes some sense too:http://www.ohio.com/blogs/cleveland...ng-for-early-touches-in-cavs-offense-1.641865
JR broke his thumb at some point, he doesn't use it as an excuse.
Smith has battled nagging injuries since the preseason and apparently one he didn’t even know he had. An x-ray over the weekend revealed a broken bone in his right thumb that has since healed. Smith doesn’t know how or when it happened, but team doctors told him it occurred long enough ago that it healed on its own. But the hand is still prone to swelling whenever he gets hit on it, which happened Friday at Madison Square Garden.
