I do like that we got JR from the Knicks but to say that is the best thing about JR Smith just is not right. As long as he continues to make our team better and they keep gelling like they have been, that is the best thing about JR Smith. Being a piece that can make us contend for a championship.

The moments when he gets hot from three are obviously huge for the team, but I am astonished by his team play and the effort he has been making on defense.

I thought he played poor D first half (but so did alot of guys) huge effort in the second half and key shooting saved us. He really follows LBJ, and when lebron steps us JR takes his D to the next effort. Loved how often he came back to rebound the ball today

I was pretending the first half didn't exist, just like Cavs did.

The play where the Cavs were up by 10+, Smith made the effort to make a strip, and decided to lob to LeBron instead of just going for the slam himself said volumes (again) to me. He knows how to keep the right teammate happy.

Most games, JR looks like the third best player on the team. Great defense, unselfish, doesn't pout, comes up huge in the clutch.

Hes great on the fast break too, which this team needs to try and do more of. I'd love to see them push the pace a little bit more. They've gotten away from that a little bit recently.

Spot on. Someone, perhaps Barkley, noted not long after the trade that JR is basically a good kid who is a follower. He wasn't the instigator of the bad vibes in New York, he just followed the people who were. He knows who the alpha dog is in Cleveland.
