I hope you're right. I think JR is much more replaceable for us than Love. We've wanted to see how Shump would do in the starting lineup and he's been playing well consistently now. Unfortunate that this happened, but it is what it is. This hurts our depth off the bench a bit, but isn't a huge blow.

Agreed. JR is big part of the team, but he isn't LeBron or Irving. Shumpert was our MVP today imo. He was everywhere. Love being out for an extended period of time will be tricky. Personally, I think he plays game 1. Just a hunch.

Here's my thinking:
JR deserves 2-3 games, but maybe the league goes a little light and says something like "3 game suspension, with 1 already served."

That way, we only lose JR for 2 games, and maybe we split the pair with Chicago?

Being a fatalistic Cleveland sports fan I fullu expect to see Olynyk get off w/ a small fine and JR whacked w/ a 4 game suspension, w/ Perk getting a game himself, even though he wasn't ejected (and should have been), w/ ESPN Hot Takes calling the Cavs a bunch of thugs and worse.

JR's got the support system in Cleveland w/ LeBron, Blatt, and Griff he didn't have anywhere else and if anything, won't let him get disengaged from the team during his suspension.

We need him and they will let him know that.
