Kareem Hunt: One Pissed Off Runner!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Oh my, thousands of Cleveland fans have gathered downtown to protest the Kareem Hunt signing.

Tyreek Hill punched his pregnant girlfriend in the stomach and he's considered a young star in the league. The NFL doesn't care as long as you do it before you get into their league. Unless it's weed, then you're fucked.
... or as long as it's not caught on video

He assaulted a woman, and this was his second chance, because he had messed up like this previously.

He is good at his job... that's all this is about. It is not about giving him another chance or anything of the sort. Dorsey thinks Kareem Hunt can help him fulfill his fiduciary duty to the Haslems.
Eh, tough to say. Dorsey was killed for drafting Tyreke Hill, but by all accounts he has turned his life around and he & his wife are happily married.

I'm shocked, but I like this signing.

Just get your shit together dude.

Let's be clear here...

Joe Mixon is a bad person. Tyreek Hill is a bad person. Kareem Hunt is a bad person. Zeke Elliott is a bad person.

Every single one of these guys is a bad human being. If you strike a woman under anything other than completely outrageous circumstances (she's attacking you with a deadly weapon being pretty much the only one), you're a complete piece of shit as a human being.

I'm not going to cheer for this guy. I don't really care how well he plays. Signing him is gross and disgusting.

I guess it’s a good thing he’s here to play a game and not to be a boyscout.

Salary databases say Hunt has earned $1.6 million for his career.....he hasn't made money since the incident and won't make money until he is re-instated. Sure, Vick went to jail.....he also made what? $60 mil prior to that? And then made another $60 mil after. If money is the hangup here, I'm not sure what debt Vick truly paid?
Vick lost his freedom for 1.5 years. I don't like the idea of Hunt getting a job this year, so soon after he got caught.

If he's suspended for a year, is a model citizen and has no issues, then I'd be ok with someone signing him. But he should have to learn some sort of lesson before doing so.

You're big into fantasy football, arent you? Did you draft any of the above in fantasy football and root for them to help you win fantasy games? Serious question.

I don't play fantasy football, no. Not in several years.

I haven't gotten through all the posts yet, so forgive me if I'm repeating someone else.

For this process to work in any sport, the player has to resign with a team in order to begin the suspension. What good was the Ray Rice suspension since nobody picked him up? It wasn't a suspension, it was a banishment. Luckily Rice chose on his own to seek the help he needed, because he didn't have any professional need to do so. Take Manziel: suspended yet also not NFL material. What good is it for him to have a suspension that will never begin?

Hunt is going to be under contract, technically. He may show good faith to the Browns after the ordeal ends. He may not and move on. He may not right the ship. Nobody knows, but he does have a support system nearby since he attended Toledo in college and Dorsey drafted him.

The point is rehabilitation not punishment.

This take makes no sense. The Browns roster represents the city in more ways than what happens on the football field. Not equating the two obviously, though I’m sure I’ll get slammed in bad faith for even mentioning the name, but if Hitler ran smooth routes and had great hands would you be cool with signing him?

I doubt it, so there’s a principle there that plays out across a spectrum of what is and isn’t morally acceptable behavior. For me, kicking a women after you’ve already pushed her over and lying about it isn’t on the “sign this guy, it’s fine” end of that spectrum.

I don't want Hunt, but just curious, if Hunt had assaulted a man that was harassing him with racial slurs, would anyone here even give a fuck?

I'm probably in the minority, but I don't think getting called a name gives you an exemption from behaving like a civilized human being. I understand that your scenario might be the outcome, but I don't think it should be condoned or applauded.

Systematically abusing and killing animals is not on par with drunkenly kicking someone you do not know, after a series of instigations... woman or not.

I don't want to get in to a long discussion about how morally depraved each incident is, they're both bad guys.....and I'm not sure how much either of them have learned or will learn but punishment is 1 form criminal justice, 1 form workplace suspension.

If the criminal justice system has run its' course, Hunt has taken actions that genuinely show remorse, he's committed to various other programs (community outreach, continued treatment for any ailment he may have, and he over and over accepts responsibility in all settings), it's time for him to be given a chance to move on.

I'd imagine he has learned his lesson already, 3 months removed from his life being sent in to a tailspin.....if he has not, he never will. Which is an entirely different discussion.
