Does it really matter to what extent we should take DefRtg? Never said it was the end all, be all.

It was meant to show that Love played very well defensively yesterday and that, despite what many (including on here) were/have been saying, Love can still play vs these clowns and doesn't only have to play when Zaza/West/etc are in the game. That's it.

If Love is unplayable against the Warriors we've got a whole lot of unplayable guys against them

It was always ridiculous to suggest Kevin Love couldn't play in a warriors series. That was just the warriors telling everybody that would listen, and the media printing it, and neutral fans rolling with it. He's more viable than ever with the changes to their depth and now Channing Frye is viable where he wasn't really before.

It was half the posters here along with Windhorst.

There were some, but I wouldn't say it was half. A lot of people said you could stash him on bogut/ezeli or when they downsize stash him on iguadola.

See. I won't criticize those who said last season Love was unplayable in crucial stretches against the Warriors. Not completely unplayable. Just not in key stretches when the game is close. They had decent reasoning to think so as well because we hadn't seen the best of Love yet with a Cavs uniform.

But the current confident Love? If anything, I feel he is ESSENTIAL against the Warriors. There will be stages where we would need his ability to slow the game down and get Warriors in foul trouble. Love is absolutely needed for that.

One thing I hope Ty and the coaching staff work with Love and others in the squad is how to have him get out of a double teaming or trapping because the Warriors do that against most of the bigs except LeBron. If Love can pass well out of a double team/incoming traps, Warriors are doomed.

Have LeBron cut when Love is posting up, just to add another dimension and cause some sort of chaos in their defense with Kyrie coming off screens. Don't just stand around when Love is posting up because it allows the rest of the Warriors players to send late double teams/trap Love.

I have a problem with such opinions because these people seem to make the assumption that, whatever a player has shown up to this point, that is the best he will ever be.

People gave Love very little chance of figuring it out, of getting better, or of making critical adjustments. They talked about him like was frozen in his development as a player, never to improve.

The same people are usually assuming that older players will surely drop off the cliff and over the hill. Jefferson got a lot of this treatment because of what happened with Marion. Hell, most people wanted absolutely nothing to do with JR, said he was a cancer. Most people never gave Liggins a chance either.

The list goes on and on. This year people are giving Dunleavy that treatment, assuming that because he hasn't come out of the gate strong, he'll never contribute for the remainder of the season. He's effectively been written off by a large segment of the fan base and the media.

I'm the opposite, I expect to see the players, as professional athletes with a huge amount of personal pride, to improve and eventually become the best version of themselves. Sometimes it doesn't happen but why not give them the benefit of the doubt at least in our hopes and expectations?

I believe the Warriors doubled Love at least once when LeBron went out of the game.

So Green can anonymously say whatever he wants and Durant can call Love expletives, but the Warriors do seem a bit concerned about what Love might be able to do against them.

They did it twice the first time Love was playing with LBJ on the bench.

I can only get...so...erect!

This was their game plan during the Finals. Every time love turns his back down the post, a Warrior comes in to steal or disrupt his shot or passing lanes.

Too bad for everyone in the league that he's not the same Love the last 2 seasons.

I've seen some really strong defensive plays with Love sometime that shocked the hell out of me. Mostly playing against warriors. He just needs to be a lot more consistent.

Its not just us fans getting shocked, every other game or so I see a player coming in thinking they are gonna get the same old laid back KL of the last 2 years only to get fucking slammed and even knocked onto their ass.

Draymond had a nice little moment last game where Love slammed into him and he let out a noise that I must admit I found rather pleasant to hear. Sounded like a mix of pain and sheer surprise.

He's gone back into bully mode a la Minny Love except with new motivation and a greater appreciation for defense and doing the little things to help win games.
