Kevin Love is painful to watch play defense. We stuck him on Pero Antic so he wouldn't have to guard Paul Millsap and we still manages to find a way to be a liability.

Right out of the gate Antic scored the first points of the game with a 3 right over a late closeout from Love. Another two Hawks possessions go by (no points), then Antic gets Love to bite so hard on a pump fake he had plenty space to get by him and find DeMarre Carroll for an assist.

There was a couple good rotations and a few hustle plays- he managed to get back after one of his misses and turn an easy layup opportunity for Millsap into a much tougher turnaround (that Millsap missed)- but overall I don't think he's even close to being an average defender at this point.

I can forgive his defense because I know he is a lost cause on that end. What is infuriating is he can not even make up for it with his offense. Just a catastrophe.

When I watch Love, I can't even comprehend how he used to score so many points. He is awful in traffic and off of the dribble. It seems the only thing he can do is shoot. When he gets into the paint, he looks lost and throws up a ton of shitty shots that remind me of Tristan in his rookie season. Did he only score so many points because he shot a lot or what? I just don't get it. This guy does not impress me at all. I am hoping we can sign and trade him in the offseason for someone that plays both sides of the ball. Shit, I think Milsap is the better player just because of Love's putrid defense alone.

People keep wondering why we run pick and roll with TT/AV more often than Love... Have you seen Love off the dribble? He reminds me of Z back in the day he is so damn slow. He has no lift. And he cannot finish or maneuver through traffic.
