This is even worse than the Mike and Mike tweet.

I unfollowed Vardon for this.

Although guess I can't blame the guy. He knows what gets clicks in Cleveland.

Also, what an awful referendum on our city and what drives fans. That a local reporter thought that the best lede would be the negative "we're not best friends" over freaking "I INTEND TO BE A CAVALIER NOT MATTER WHAT HAPPENS"!

Ugh...
Thought this exact same thing.

This city's media LOVES to rile up a gullible fanbase constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Borderline masochistic.

No way. I'll be a Kevin Love fan no matter what uniform he wears. I was before he came here too.

But I'm a Cavs fan first, and I will be really disappointed and sad if he left.
I'd be disappointed if he left, as well, but for me it all depends how he would leave if he chose to do so. If he informs us he's going to leave early on and we get something reasonable for him in a sign and trade, I'd feel a lot better and wish him luck wherever he goes. That being said, I don't think he's going to leave because he has no better options out there - the Lakers? Lol.

This is why I can't understand why Minnesota fans are so hateful of Kevin Love. He devoted 6 years to the franchise and did everything he could to help them win (averaging 26/12/4.5 while leading a team whose second best player was Ricky Rubio to 40 wins in the tough West is pretty impressive). He wanted out so he told them a year before he could hit free agency, which allowed them to bring back an awesome package with a potential superstar. It would be a lot worse if he just left them for absolutely nothing, so I just don't get why Love gets shit on by Wolves fans.

I remember Love saying earlier in the season that he is introverted and is either at home or the courts.

LeBron is about as extroverted as you get. I think a lot of the other guys on the team are extroverts as well.

That doesn't mean that Love isn't friends with those guys. It just means that his relationship with them will be different.

Yea, there's this report

Love is an admitted introvert who enjoys sitting home and watching movies. Timberwolves center Nikola Pekovic, who was Love’s closest friend in Minnesota, told me last week he had to struggle sometimes just to get Love to leave his apartment. Love wasn’t overly close with a lot of his teammates in Minnesota. The list consisted of Pekovic and Corey Brewer. That was about it.

A: I want my Funny or Disagree sticker ASAP
B: Sarcasm? Me? Come on, you know I will straight up kill myself if my teen idol KLove even entertained the notion of leaving the Cavs
Anything for you Richard "funny X 1000000"
C: Love is probably not even my 4th favorite Cav
I totes agree with you!
but I do like him as a player
Losing me there.
When your third fiddle player is a Kevin Love player, and then you still have guys like JR and Moz behind that, you're in pretty amazing shape as a franchise.
Solid.

Well, since KD has gone down, Russ is averaging a triple double. For real.

Not quite a triple double but close to one. Granted, you can discount FG% to a certain extent if a player has to take on a greater load but still Westbrook's team is fighting for the 8th seed and he is shooting 42.7%. During LeBron's 3rd year with an arguably worse roster he averaged 31.4 pts 7rbs 6.6 ast while shooting 48% and getting his team the 4th seed in the East. Anyone that sincerely believes that Westbrook has had an MVP type of season you are misguided in my eyes. I suppose he should receive consideration owing to the fact that nobody is jumping off of the stat sheet. But by default and by following past MVP criteria Steph Curry will receive the reward and LeBron should be 2nd or 3rd.

I'm sure at this point Love feels comfortable saying Russ and not LeBron should win MVP because I doubt he can get the ball less than he does already. :chuckle:

But in all seriousness, what if Kevin is just some Jedi Mind Warrior and he's saying this just to rile LeBron up? "Take us to the promised land you non MVP deserving bastard."

Of course... how could I have not seen this coming?

The resemblance is uncanny.

I understand people being concerned until Love signs for next year and beyond. We gave up a lot to get him. I get it.

I do not understand this fretting over Instagram pictures. "Hey Kevin, hurry over here so you can be part of this spontaneous pic." In any organization, you have people who like to hang out and people who don't. I've also been at many events where the pictures didn't reflect who truly spent time w/whom. I may have talked with a guy for an hour but no one took our picture. Unless someone is going around methodically snapping pictures, it just kind of depends on who was with whom at a particular time and who got the notion to take a picture. It doesn't mean anything.

We'll probably see an uptick in manufactured IG pics. It'll be like those corporate pictures where they have to show a white, a black, a Hispanic, an Asian, etc., except the whole purpose of these will be to ensure we see Kevin Love. Sigh. I feel for the players on this matter...

I tend to agree with what you are saying, my two cents are (a) the MVP award is given based on the current year, and (b) OKC are not playing in the East.
Just to make myself clear, all I'm saying that Russ is certainly a contender.

(I know this is the KLove thread, sorry)

The only thing worse than Joe Vardon having a job with the PD is posters complaining about user ratings.

I wish I had control over Vardon's antics. Since I don't, the next person to whine about user ratings and that sort of thing will get to do it on vacation. Use ignore and let it go now.

Yeah, I think it was pretty much pointed out he's an introvert, always has been. Kinda quiet, keep to myself kind of guy.

Kyrie has kinda been accused of being that too. I could care less, how these guys conduct themselves in their personal time, as long as its not malicious, doesn't bother me at all.

I read the entire article just now, talk about much to do about nothing.

Hahahahahahaha.

This is the only quote Mike and Mike tweeted out from the whole interview. The only quote that almost directly contradicts the tone of the entire interview.

God Bless You, ESPN...

I don't understand why anyone listens to that show. They offer zero insight, they're not amusing and they toe the company line at all times. They're awful on every conceivable level.

Thank god Love went on Dan Patrick.
