Kobe is like 400 years old. I'm sick of hearing "So and so will go team up with Kobe!" Guy is on his way out of the league in the next 2-3 years at most. It's time to start planning for life after Kobe, Lakers honks. It was a good run.

Family Love Michael.

The media abhors Cleveland. As soon as the Cavs win a championship, the next day you'll see stories asking if LeBron will leave now that he's fulfilled his promise.

They know as well as we do it won't happen. But they also know the bulk of mankind is really fucking stupid, that sports fans Average IQ's are lower than the average human beings and that stupid people operate in black and white and respond to drama.

Until people get not stupid, this will continue.

The Lakers have even made it clear that even if he wanted to keep playing they aren't going to resign him unless he took a massive paycut.

The recovery road for that franchise is not going to be easy, although I will be shocked if they don't land a top two pick.

Its funny, i dont know if k love is happy

But the media wants him gone soooo fucking bad. They hate having to cover the big 3 in Cleveland

I actually heard a guy on espn try to say how the lakers would be good w k love and kobe. Lolololololol... He was like "u cant ever count kobe out". Yes actually, u can count kobe out. He sucked balls this year and is old. Rondo, k love and kobe wouldnt even sniff the playoffs.

If love goes to the lakers the media will crucify him when they have a losing record in the west. Shit the wolves might b better by next year.

I don't even think the media buys any of it either. The only people that think that Love will go to the Lakers are die hard Laker fans, and the same is true with the Knicks. Neither is appealing in any way other than the big market (and quite frankly, I personally hate New York City so I tend to find this point baffling), and even with a good offseason both teams will still be a few years from being a good team, and another year or two after that before becoming a legitimate contender.

The annoying part of this is I truly, in fact would almost guarantee, Love will sign a one year extension here and will definitely be in Cleveland for at least one more season (likely longer). But unfortunately, that means we're going to hear these same reports nonstop for the next 12-15 months.

I mean, if you're going to make up stories, Westbrook and Kevin to LA in 2 years when cap jumps, Kobe is gone, is plausible. Two UCLA guys post-Kobe trying to revitalize the team.

It's the scenario I always worried about. No one is going to play with a broken down Kobe who still screams at you like he's elite. Hypothetically, if your story is Love struggles to get along with Lebron, how the hell is he going to deal with Kobe? You get 10 times the awkwardness with a guy who isn't a top 50 player at this point. I fully expect Kobe to walk away after getting all his money at this time next year just like Nash did this week.

NY is simply laughable in any context. You have two teammates telling you every day that it was pure hell and a clownshow. You have an already overpaid Melo, and nothing else on the roster. It's absurd, and to hear SAS talk like it's plausible is silly even for that show, which is the worst show in the history of sports variety shows.

The Westbrook / Love rumors aren't new. I heard that two years ago, back when he was in Minneosta.

It's meaningless.

Oh, and once again, for emphasis...

Rewatched last night's game. The ball movement was absurdly good, like literally not being hyperbolic when I say it reminded me of the Spurs in the Finals when they dismantled Miami. Even the Memphis announcers were gushing about it for much of the second half (and one even made the Spurs comparison).

But on Love: looked like a totally different player. I wonder if this is a sign of things to come. He had some disgustingly good assists too.

I've watched quite a few Memphis games this year on League Pass and their announcers are excellent. Easily one of the best combos in the league. Their color guy raved about Love and Delly and Tristan several times during the game. Basically he was crediting them for doing whatever it takes to win.

I hate dignifying the leaving nonsense with a response but, a few thoughts on all the nonsense about Love leaving:

1. The entire "argument" seems predicated on supposed concerns Love has about putting up good enough stats to be in the Hall of Fame and that this can only be done by leaving Cleveland. This false because:

A. Over the next five years Kevin Love's numbers will only increase as (1) LeBron declines and (2) Blatt integrates him more and more. I can see him averaging 21/11 next year and those are historically great numbers on a "super-team" by any measure.

B. In the event the Cavaliers win some titles, players with multiple championships have more clout in HOF balloting than those sans rings but with gaudy numbers. Moreover, his legacy as a player would be far more enduring than if he struck out on his own and put up incredible numbers only to see repeated second round exits. His brand is worth far more as part of a historic team than as a lone wolf. Hell, even shit players are remembered if they are champions; your average fan is more likely to remember Luc Longley than Tom Gugliotta.

C. Once LeBron retires, say in five or six years, Love will still have a lot left in the tank and Kyrie will be in his prime -and by prime I mean MVP candidate. With some adjustments, like bringing in another all-star, a team built around Irving and Love will be contenders for years. Love would have the chance at having a truly historic legacy (and brand) as a member of a team that contended, and hopefully won a few titles, over the course of near a decade. That is a truly rare occurrence and guarantees the HOF. Also, players who have long tenures with a winning team are remembered more fondly than those who bounce around.

2. So, in conclusion, staying in Cleveland means Love will (1) Still generate impressive stats (this year is an outlier), (2) Cement a historic legacy, provided the Cavs win a couple titles, and (3) Get paid a lot more in Cleveland to do it.

That said, why** would he leave unless the team shits the bed come playoff time? He won't. It would be illogical and if Love has shown anything it is that he is as green-blooded as they get.

* Stupid ESPN reasons that have no basis in reality so that mouth-breathers have something to inanely babble about as their team is dispatched by the Cavaliers with extreme prejudice.

** Or this is all a secret plot on the part of Evil Kevin Love to stack the Wolves with Wiggins and picks to set the stage for a glorious and duplicitous return to Minneapolis next year. Bwhahahahaha.

We can't tell what happened exactly last game, but that is what we have all been waiting for. Maybe Blatt ran some things for Love, maybe Love woke up and said,"I can play my game And our game.". Maybe he was just feeling better.

Fact is though that that was the the best game Love has played in terms of moving to open spots, cutting to the basket, and setting screens near the basket. He showed that he can be aggressive without the ball in his hands which a lot of us "Love haterz" have been arguing about all year.

They guy can be successful on this team, and although Kyrie and Lebron seem like they are shutting him out, I think it was obvious against the grizz that he will get the ball IF he is open. He did a great job getting open.

Hopefully this is just another milestone for a going player who, let's face it, had a great offensive game, but has only recently played defense with effort and intensity. Now he can get back to his offense after making so much progress on d.

He is not leaving because leaving and not being successful is a much bigger burden than he can handle I think.

Nothing they say on First Take is accurate, SAS and Skip are nothing more than a couple morons with a microphone. They don't actually believe the garbage they spew, nor should any Cavs fan.

the most disgusting part is the latent racism of the whole show, and i honestly get nauxious when i think of all the closets racists getting their jollies on watching skip. while the racism is never directly adressed both Skip and SAS make sure to portray what an angry person of the opposite race would absolutely hate. I fucking hate that show so goddamn much.

Do people see LeBron retiring in 5 or 6 years? I wanna see him chase Kareem.
