Source: Kevin Love's labrum tore away from the bone, and will need 4-6 weeks, minimum, to heal. If it doesn't, surgery a possibility.

To be clear, source adds: There's virtually zero chance Love plays again this postseason, even if Cavs make the Finals.

Trying to wrap my head around how his labrum could tear away from the bone and then just heal on its' own in 4-6 weeks?

As I stated earlier, it sucks but after reading about the injury, most doctors says a tear is easier to 100% recover from, with no recurring issues. Where players can get in to trouble is if the Labrum doesn't tear but stretches instead. That can be more problematic long term. A horrible silver lining but hopefully that is the case.

Really sucks for you guys. I repeatedly said I wanted to see what would happen if both teams were at full strength. At the end of the regular season I still gave the Cavs the advantage but I thought it would still be competitive.

That being said I still give the Cavs the advantage solely based on you guys having Lebron. Also doesn't help that the Bulls have completely devolved into an iso team. Kyrie has stepped up so he wont be going into battle on his own. Opportunity for the rest of the roster to rise to the occasion. Without injuries I don't think Butler becomes the player he is today.

I am very bummed to say the least. But even though many people in the media and other fans may think Kevin Love had a year to forget here, I really think the opposite. I think I speak for many when I say that Kev was my favourite Cavalier to watch succeed throughout the year because of his personality and IQ. He always said the right things and was a key piece for us in big games. If my gut is any indication I imagine Kev stays with us for a long, long time and we will get to build a dynasty with him at our 4 slot. Even though LMA is a great player, I would take Kev 10/10 times because I really feel he brings a very unique character and skillset to our team.

WE LOVE U KEV.

WE HATE U KELLY.

How do they go from 4-6 weeks minimum to heal to virtually no chance he plays? The finals don't start for 6 weeks and last up to 2 weeks after that.

We're going to need to sweep or close to sweep our series. LeBron and Kyrie will have to play in the high 40 minutes to make up for Love being out, so will need between series and between game rests. Either the games get stretched out or the opponent comes in tired if we close out series quickly.

Dude, not that hard to comprehend:

His thingymajig detached from the doohickey and the doodads just need to heal on their own or they'll have to use some gismos and widgets to fix it.

Idiot.

Butler is a beast, and the real deal. Really impressed with him.

I'm so depressed and have actually had a hard time carrying out daily activities since this happened. Started sinking in as soon as Kevin sprinted off the floor... I truly believed we had a good shot at the championship. The team looked so good and Kevin's chemistry with LeBron had never looked better. There's always next year, but this felt so special this year.

I really hope LeBron and Kyrie are able to give us some more of the amazing performances they have throughout the year. We definitely still can come out of the East, but winning a championship seems unlikely unless we see something really surprising out of our bench.

I don't know exactly why anyone is surprised. Like I said, I've had this injury. Of course, I can't sit here and go mine was exactly like his, I'm not a doctor. I don't know the full extent of his, but there's no way he's coming back. Zero chance.

Just from my own perspective, I couldn't literally lift my arm over my head for 2 weeks.

So there's nothing Kevin can do. And risk further damage would be absolutely stupid. I plead with Kevin, don't even consider coming back. Shut it down, think about yourself.

We'll see you next year, and get better.
