Let's be honest, it's because he's white. If Brandon Bass or Jae Crowder did it, people would be vilifying them.

It works both ways here. There are two stereo-types at play, one negative for white athletes and one positive. If he were black, he wouldn't be seen as uncoordinated, awkward, and nonathletic. That's only reserved for white players.

And then on the other hand, him being white ALSO plays into the idea that he can't be a dirty player, because dirty players are only black.

Today is one of the most depressing days I can remember as a Cavs fan.

I really wish Kevin would have clotheslined him following the play.

I have the answer to winning the Finals this year....

This all goes back to the refs not calling any fouls on that worthless fucking franchise.

Also, I don't recall Stevens having his Butler teams play anything like what we witnessed.

A disgrace.

He could have easily swung his right arm and punched him right in the face. Would have been glorious.

Way into the future but even if Love could step out onto the court in the Finals. Like 10 minutes a game. The emotional lift would be huge.

But Bulls/Bucks is the focus now.
Finals Elimination Game. (Cavs up +whatever)
K Love does a "Rudy" at the Q! :celb (2): :chuncky: :disdain (29):

edit: I wouldn't mind an Andy in street clothes too....................

I don't know, all I know is I find it very odd that people still think this tool didn't mean anything by what he did. And if this were any other team picked to play in the FInals, I'd feel the same way. Spurs, Golden State, I'd stil be sickened. Just a really effed up thing to happen, and the league should be taking care of it.

I think we all need to just take a deep breath and move on. There's no point in killing ourselves over this. Kyrie and LeBron are going to do everything within their power to still bring a title to Cleveland. It will be all the more sweeter to still win despite this awful injury to Love. Then come next season when Love is back 100% with a huge chip on his shoulder (no pun intended) we'll win it again.

It's still our year. I believe that 100%.

Completely agree with this great post, usually would just leave a "Winner" emot but felt the post deserved more praise.

Olynyk is only getting sympathy from Boston fans/LBJ n Cavs haters. Cavs and LBJ fans make him out to be the hippie Kermit Washington. Truth lies in between. Olynyk was being reckless and got Love hurt. Do I think he was trying to take Love out for the playoffs? No. But that doesn't absolve him from punishment just because he didn't plan it. He was not pursuing the ball at all, had deliberately grabbed Love and his reckless action got another player hurt. Simple as that. I'm just glad the NBA suspended him at all, and I'm also glad JR's suspension a only 2 games. Could have been much worse. Time to move on.

It suck that these assholes pretty much caused a domino effect that pretty much pushed LeBron out the door in the first place.

The East was very much OURS in 2008 had Danny Ainge won the Lottery that year. They'd have been stuck with a oft-hurt Greg Oden, and their "big 3" would have been stuck playing in their respective cities.

I still believe that.
