Extraordinary showing by Love tonight, but I'm perturbed by his almost total omission from the second half. Seriously, how does a guy go for 27 in one half only to wind up with 34 points? The thought process seems to be "okay, Love got his, now let's focus on others." BS, keep feeding him!

I think when this team is at its best, and Kyrie is back, you won't see any of these guys go off for 50. They will take turns wearing the opponent out.. LeBron took over in the third and Love was drawing guys out of the lane to make that easier for him. Frankly it was textbook.. Love got us back in the game when it was precariously in the balance in the second, and then LeBron built on that by burying them in the third with them giving all sorts of attention to Love.

All this without Kyrie yet.

Is this Cleveland??

Thats because they tried to get a good open shoot instead of just feeding it to Kev alone. The ball movement was exquisite in the second half and priority was to get a good shot instead of a forced shot. Nothing wrong with it at all.

We simply didn't need it. LeBron scored 15 tonight. I do know what you mean about the second half thing being a recurring issue for KLove but tonight it just makes sense because everyone's shots were falling. And a big part of it was because Love drew so much attention to himself.

Coming into this game, Love was averaging 18 points and 12 rebounds per game.

In NBA history, only three players have ever averaged 17+ pts., 10+ Rebs., and made 100+ threes in a season: KLove twice, Marion, Jamison.

Only one player has ever averaged 18/12 and made 100+ threes: KLove. He averaged 26/12 that year.

When he defends as he did the final 30-40 games of last year, his unique skill-set can be a key cog on a dominant team.

Also Kevin himself is a very skilled and willing passer. If you watched the second half, he was not frozen out at all. Some of the open looks weren't there, some of his would be shot attempts ended up as fouls and FTA, and he kept the ball moving as well.

The pending free agency last season seemed to stop Love from truly becoming part of the team and stopped many of the fans from feeling they should commit to him because they feared he would leave like so many have before in Cleveland. Now with the long term deal he is emotionally and mentally all-in with this team and I sense the fans feel the same way towards him. Now it makes sense to build around his skills because he will be here throughout his prime years. It is going to be fun to watch this team when Kyrie is back at full speed.

He was terrible. We should have kept Wiggins.

A little birdy told me this isn't the Kevin Love we traded for.
