Love really isn't very good at the end of games. Maybe he just isn't getting the ball, but I don't mind when he sits out. James at the 4 and TT at the 5 is a better defensive frontcourt.

Only against small ball lineups. Against bigger teams like San Antonio or Chicago you want Love out there.

You want your all-star out there in crunch time.

You want your Team USA guy out there at all times.

This isn't rocket science folks.

You are ignoring one side of the ball. Kevin isn't even a big 4th quarter scorer.

Unfortunately/fortunately for Love, he is not even the best 4 on the team. Lebron is.

Can't score if you're not on the court.

LeBron is not a 4. Love is one of the top 2 or 3 PFs in the game.

This is all very, very old.

Lebron is the better player. Doesn't matter if he plays the 3 or 4.

If he doesn't get the ball then why would you want him out there? Doesn't provide enough without the ball.

This is a wake up call for Love. If he wants to play in the final minutes of a close game, he must improve his defense. He must position himself to prevent the other team from scoring. He must raise his arms and challenge shots. It is non-negotiable.

Love is a great player, and has a lot of skills. IMO he doesn't do enough of the little things to warrant playing time when we know Lebron is likely to have the ball. We have better defending spot up shooters than Kev.

I stopped at the bolded. Rebounding, passing, leadership - not to mention a great mustache.

You don't like Kevin Love - I understand this now.

I like him a lot. He has been significantly better this year. I also see that he is one of the worst superstars in the 4th. I don't know why that is.

I can see his defense is not great. He has work to do to play championship level defense. That's all.

We saw how the finals went without Kevin. I think it's pretty obvious that we need him. Relying on LeBron as the only scorer every 4th quarter was exhausting as a fan as I'm sure it was exhausting for LeBron. It's in our team's best interest to figure out a lineup to close games that includes Love.

Looking way too much into one quarter of one game.

Love said he was okay with sitting down. First game of a back to back. The team dominated in the 4th. The Cavs won. Kevin Love was celebrating the victory at the end. The only problem is one being created by paranoia. Love has played major minutes in the 4th all season. They went with what was working. I don't see a problem anywhere.

This is a wake up call for Love? He's playing phenomenal basketball right now, and you're acting like he's on the verge of getting benched.

He's going to play crunch time minutes of close games far more often than not. This was one time among the many close games we've played this year.

Asked Blatt about the fact that he used Love at the end of the 1st and LeBron at end of 2nd and now they're on the floor more together. He suggested that the two had very good synergy and he was conscious of managing their minutes. After the conference I followed up and asked about the fact that the second team was usually buoyed by their presence and he said they have a good bench. "Better than last yr?" he hedged, and so I asked then if he had more confidence in them than he did last yr and he said, yes. "I think it's warranted don't you?"

I am sorry to say I was too chickenshit to say, "Not when the second team's being served their ass in the first half."

But rest assured if the second squad falters again tonight between the 9th and 18th minutes of a game against the Nets we will revisit this topic.

I'm not acting like anything. He needs to improve his defense or there will be more of these. We see Timo doesn't have the ability to cover for Love like he did last year-at least not yet. Do you think Kevin's defense is championship Caliber? I don't at all.
