Kirk Herbstreit Forced to Leave Columbus

He lived in Upper Arlington which is right beside Ohio State Campus. Upper Arlington is packed with Buckeye fans. Part of the reason UA is so expensive is because of its location to downtown and campus. All the rich alum want to live by campus, but still live in a high-end suburb/part of Columbus.

LOL, you must not know what UA is really like. They're passionate Ohio State fans but they would never do anything to chase Herbie out of their city, that's outrageous. The last people who would threaten Herbie would be his neighbors or people who lived in UA.

I'm positive that if it was proved that Ohio State was actually hiding Osama Bin Laden on campus, you'd find a way to spin that as a positive for the school and/or fans.

Running a guy out of town because he doesn't worship the local team is about as petty as it gets.

SOME Ohio State fans are upset with Herbie for the way in which he handles himself as a part of the ESPN machine in it portrayal of the university. In a most likely effort to appear unbiased, Herbie jumps to the other extreme and makes comments about OSU that he never makes about other programs who have any controversies.

He digs a hole, then crawls back to the team to assure that his a Buckeye through and through. The last time he allegedly broke down in tears. He then turns around and makes disparaging comments about Pryor and the team that he would never make against another player.

His latest is claiming that OSU should never have even recruited players like Clarett and Pryor in the first place.

I would be surprised if he is welcomed into the WHAC the next time he comes to town.

Players like Robert Smith, Cris Carter and Chris Spielman, who have also commented on the OSU situation in a critical way will be welcomed with open arms because they criticize without the same inappropriateness that Herbie does.

That statement really irked me. EVERYBODY IN THE COUNTRY RECRUITED CLARETT AND PRYOR!!!! Should those teams stop recruiting thugs as well?

Herbstreit uses so much hyperbole against the Buckeyes it's ridiculous. And then he acts as if he's a Buckeye insider, when most of the WHAC can't stand him. For that matter, a lot of his former teammates can't stand him.

It's funny that he would apologize to McGloin at PSU for stating he was a "hand-off" QB, but consistently rips Pryor. And he was ripping Pryor well before any of the tat-gate stuff came out so it wasn't as if he was just commenting on current issues.

Combine that with his comments from several years ago that "if I were an offensive recruit, I'd never even consider playing for the Buckeyes". Or his comments after tOSU lost to LSU..."Ohio State just set the Big 10 back to the 1940's"...even though the BIg 10 has had a .500 record against the SEC since 2000.

He's just so over the top in regards to Ohio State and it got tiresome. If his critiques weren't stupid national stereotypes and shots at the program people would be accepting. People won't be accepting when he throws out innocent names in the the tat-gate scandal and then refuses to apologize to guys like Mike Brewster, Jordan Hall, and Chris Fields. He will rip Pryor, a 20 year old kid for being immature, but then irresponsibly critisze guys who had nothing to do with tat-gate, live on ESPN, but then never offer an apology to the wrongfully accused.

Chris Spielman just ripped Tressel the other day, yet no one is complaining in the Ohio State fanbase. It's because he does it fairly.

Chased out of town and having too thinkof skin are 2 different things. Herbie plays the victim in everything he does....he's been called out on his ridiculous comments and actions and doesn't want to face the heat. He can take his fake tan and bronzer to Tennessee...that's fine.
