Re: Kyrie Irving: 2014 All Star Game MVP

Trade this dude to Siberia already. Really tired of this story. This team is trash with him on it, what would really change.

Re: Kyrie Irving: 2014 All Star Game MVP

I don't think we will trade him any time soon...
But if we do we gotta trade him to a team that's even shitter than us

Re: Kyrie Irving: 2014 All Star Game MVP

Another reason that pisses me off and also maybe true to these kyrie rumors. When reports that he wanted out of Cleveland he was quiet as hell. When a report within that same week came out about him firing his agent he was quick to say that was 1000% false. I was like damn he come out refute this but the 20 other reports about leaving you don't address it. On the other hand pretty sure Dan is not going to let him leave for nothing. I just don't want any draft picks 10 years down the road that heavily protected and a tpe that is basically useless

Re: Kyrie Irving: 2014 All Star Game MVP

Three things worth commenting on in this Windhorst article:
1. Windy confirms --he's at least the third source on this -- that no matter what Kyrie says publicly, his people are saying privately that he wants out. That's not good.

Exactly.

Very similar to what Deron and Dwight's camps where putting out before their eventual trades. From what I've gathered, he is very serious about maximizing his career earnings and there is no better place to so that a big market.

IMO, he is already angling for an out and the only reason he would stay is if we could build, at the worst, a fringe contender around him.

But if he pushes for a 3 yr contract, you definitely have look into moving him.

All this should clarify for Gilbert what kind of GM he needs to hire this offseason.

Amin Elhassan pisses me off to no end. People hate him here in Memphis, too.

Re: Kyrie Irving: 2014 All Star Game MVP

I caved and caught the last two minutes of the game. I see the boxscore but man, even when he plays well, there is still just something off.

Play at the end of the game, where he had the charge called. Hawes was wide-open for a little drop off pass and Kyrie decided to ignore that, dive into a defender, and pray. These are the little things that he's just not improving on. His decision making is not good.

Considering it was the first time he has ever played an entire second half in the NBA, it wasn't that surprising that he wasn't as effective down the stretch. There were more slipups in the last 5 minutes than earlier in the half. I'm not saying his decision making couldn't improve but tonight was a little different for him. He had a good game for many other stretches.

Someone needs to get him some new shoes that don't have to be adjusted every other trip down the court. That was odd to say the least.

Re: Kyrie Irving: 2014 All Star Game MVP

Seriously, someone get this man a decent pair of shoes.

He switched at halftime and it didn't help much at all.

Re: Kyrie Irving: 2014 All Star Game MVP

I don't know why, but I didn't see anything alarming in his play tonight. He missed some open guys, but he always does. I thought he played well. in the 4th quarter that was the Kyrie and 4 floor spacers offense. Not good enough. He needs playmaking help, but his help was in a suit again tonight, and even if he played who knows if Brown puts him out there with Kyrie.

Re: Kyrie Irving: 2014 All Star Game MVP

9 assists and just two TO's in 45 mins, one of which was the charging call that should've been a block. Dude had a good game-- would have been a great game for him had he closed it for us. As wuck said, playing the entire 2nd half could have attributed to that.

Re: Kyrie Irving: 2014 All Star Game MVP

Can't be upset with his game tonight
Needed some help out there ttonight

Waiters moves to point guard. Championship? :chuckles:

I argued with him on twitter when he said the cavs were dumb to trade 3 picks for Deng and he said the Sactown pick would be a first rounder. After several fans chimed in on how itll never be a first, he quit talking about it

to be more about Kyrie, I am so glad he finally played a long stretch of 3rd and 4th quarter time. how freaking long did it take our star to play an entire fourth quarter??

Re: Kyrie Irving: 2014 All Star Game MVP

Last night was the only game I've been able to attend this year. The most impressive thing about Kyrie's game in person was his ability to get a shot from anywhere he wants on the floor.

He was able to get to the rim (even if he didn't always get the call), he routinely created open step back jumpers from mid-range, and of course he was able to use screens to get a few looks from distance.

But yes, someone please find him shoes that he can stop fidgeting with during the game.
