Re: Kyrie Irving Part 2 (Waiting on MRI Results)

Kobe no, he's not soft and has heart. He also plays through injury and really didn't start his career missing half of every season. He didn't start getting injured until later

Russell has heart and toughness too, just injured.

Rondo is a punk, also not missed half seasons to start his career

Derrick Rose, yes he's soft and he'll never be the same player. He also made it through a season without being injured though.

What do all the players you've named have in common? They've all had knee injuries yes, but they all also played and were there for their teams before those injuries. Kyrie hasn't been able to make it through a season yet without taking off a lot of time.

If Kyrie is soft, why did he attempt to come back in the game? There's a difference between a guy having injury issues and being soft...a HUGE difference.

Any orthopod should be able to diagnose an ACL tear on physical exam. The knee was obviously stable. Certainly there could be damage but I would really doubt an ACL tear though the pop is certainly concerning.

this... an orthopedic doctor was able to diagnose my ACL tear instantly by seeing how my knee bent without doing the MRI yet...the MRI was just confirmation

which is why I'm not as worried bc Kyrie came back from the locker room, and if it was as bad as most people are speculating, I don't think the team would have let him come back out

Re: Kyrie Irving Part 2 (Waiting on MRI Results)

This guy was an NFL doctor/physician for about 17 years:

Just saw @KyrieIrving @cavs injury. Don't expect major ligament tear. Mechanism consistent with patella subluxation and/or cartilage injury.
— David J. Soooooo what would that mean?

Re: Kyrie Irving Part 2 (Waiting on MRI Results)

What the fuck? That's not what he asked. Why would you bold parts to totally change his question?

Yeah, that's a little odd.

If it is a torn meniscus, look to Chris Paul as a best case - and by all means do not let him rush back like Metta World Peace did last season. But if he's out for the year, it's obviously concerning that the guy the Cavs are building around hasn't been able to play more than fifty-nine games in a single season. Hoping for the best, bracing for something not-so-great.

Re: Kyrie Irving Part 2 (Waiting on MRI Results)

People always want to hope for the best and that next time will be different, but honestly if the guy is hurt for a major amount of time yet again, then I don't see how you can sell the fan base on building around him and making trades specifically to benefit him and his playstyle. He can still be a part of the team and you can still pay him his money, but making trades for his benefit? I think that needs to be rethought. YOu can't build around someone who's never healthy.

I think its obvious we're in full tank mode either way. This team sucks.

Parker or Wiggins, is our only hope.

Re: Kyrie Irving Part 2 (Waiting on MRI Results)

Are we all knee experts now? No. This is getting ridiculous.

Yea but that's not my point. Lot of talk about trading this guy or that guy to then get guys that "fit" with Kyrie. I'm just not sure if that's a bright idea at this point. TO make trade to get guys because they might "fit" with a guy who can't stay healthy...

Don't forget about Embiid. I still think he will be the first pick though so it's probably a pipe dream.

it's sickening that there are people trying to spin our superstar injuring his knee into something good. Sure, we could offer a lowball offer if his career is damaged. Why would anyone even ask a question like that.

I personally find it disgusting that before we even know what is wrong with him, people are looking for reasons to be happy if it's bad.

Posts like "the tank is on" or "maybe it will save us money". It's embarrassing that a cavs board would even have posts like that right now. That's why I bolded what I did, to get him to think about the important part of what's going on.

IKWT. your gonna just have to accept google in your life.

Re: Kyrie Irving Part 2 (Waiting on MRI Results)

We'd all be lying if we didn't think this day was coming. It naturally sucks to see anyone injured, especially our best player. But let's not literally paint gloom and doom on his career yet. He's young, his body doesn't have a lot miles.

I've said this before. I've never been sold Kyrie should be your best player, if you want to go somewhere. He's a second tier star, not a franchise player. The only upside if Kyrie is out, is that we could end up with the worst record in basketball, and guaranteed top-4 in a draft where some experts are saying there could be up to five franchise players to have on a team. We weren't going anywhere with Kyrie this year, certainly won't be without him either.

The Cavs need a Wiggins/Parker kind of player, and hope a healthy Kyrie somehow fits with either guy. Definitely not saying I hope he's out, I'm definitely concern. But hey, David Robinson went down with a serious back injury, and it resulted in the Spurs landing Tim Duncan. If you're an optimistic person, you can at least look at it that way.

If we draft Wiggins or Parker, it goes away from being Kyrie's "team" either way. I think those two have the potential to be franchise guys more than Kyrie. I never bought Kyrie as a franchise guy. He's the second star, not your alpha male on the team.

We dont know how long kyrie will be out or what the problem is but it does look like he will miss some gaves and the team will have an oppurtunity to prove itselve while he is off the court. its natural to look for some positives. on the other hand why assume the worse when the results will be out most likely before the end of the day. Cavs still gotta a game to play friday.
