The Cavs now have 3 players who have went for 50+ points at sometime in their career(LBJ,Love,Kyrie). Thats amazing when you think about it since they are all 30 or younger. I wouldnt be suprised if Kyrie did it again at some point in the season tbh.
You're forgetting someone…

Kyrie played an all-time personal great kind of game. Like Kobe's 81 v. Toronto in '06, this is one game where you just felt like you were watching Jesus in basketball player form who completely awe and carried his team to improbable victory. I'll be honest, I didn't expect us to win tonight. I thought without LeBron, we'd keep it close, but ultimately Aldridge would have a huge night and beat us. But man, Kyrie came out of absolutely nowhere tonight to (to borrow's 2007's Cavs Playoffs Slogan) RISE UP and bring his team to a victory over another contender without the team's biggest star. I don't think we realize just how close of players in caliber LeBron and Kyrie are. If Kyrie plays as well as he has been, he'll be in the Hall of Fame. And this will be one of the games from his career you'll see in the intro video.

Kyrie Irving is 22. He is mere months older than I am. Amazing.

The thing people do not realize is his age. Wade came in around age 23 and was much more polished. It is usually around age 23 to 25 players hit the gas and become stars unless you are named LeBron. What we saw tonight was what we all wanted from him and that was leadership and the to win. He played play off basketball and that is great to see.

A small part of me wouldn't mind Irving missing the ASG just because I know he'd wreak havoc in the following games just to prove a point lol.

Haha. True. But, I think he pretty much booked his spot in the All-Star Team, provided the coaches and assistant coaches didn't sent their vote early. If they did, they should, re-vote again! :box2:

Also, with DWade out injured for a considerable amount of time, more space opens up in that backcourt. I am expecting four guards in the reserves. Same with the West, considering how guard heavy the league is currently.

My Reserves:- Kyrie, Teague, Korver, Knight, Butler, Millsap, Bosh.

I would pump the brakes on calling Kyrie close to LeBron's level right now, but Kyrie certainly has the tools to be an MVP someday. He's got the clutchness (is one of the top clutch players each season), athleticism, size (6'3.5" in shoes), handles (arguably the best the league has ever seen), shooting, scoring acumen, and now defensive prowess to pull it off. If Kyrie can improve himself as a floor general and consistently be a lock-down defender while keeping his scoring in the mid 20s for a season, he could pull it off. It would probably take about a 25/9/5/2/.6 on 48/42/88 shooting while being a plus defender (or something close to that) to pull it off, but, with what he's already shown at 22 years or age, I wouldn't consider it out of the realm of possibility. Just look at Steph Curry. Kyrie was averaging close to the same stats at age 20 that Curry averaged at 24. We've seen many players take off to another level in their mid-20s, and, with Kyrie already being so good, I don't see why he couldn't either.

It's been unfortunate that this has been a reality, but we have seen how good Kyrie can be when he cares (which him caring has often not been the case). Now that he's seen the joy of winning and what it takes to do it (along with having more accountability and a general manager who isn't managerially tanking), I think those days are behind him, and we'll see FIBA Kyrie more often than not (hopefully almost always) from now on.

Hopefully Irving can play Wall/Lowry/Rose in some order during the playoffs.

He'll just dominate all of them and put this ridiculous "best point guard in the East" conversation to bed for good.

EDIT: and then Steph in the Finals.

BOOM

Whoa slow down fella... I agree though that would be amazing. Curry and Irving in a finals is just amazing to think about. Also both players never been there. Oh god make that happen!
