Just unbelievable game
Big boost to the cavs morale and confidence without the king

I see the Kings leadership is having huge effect

Ironically we go play the Kings with out the King. So that means the Kings will be going all out on us with out the King who is... Ah screw it. Go Cavs.

55pts...now let me be the national media.."Irving was hoisting up shots and not getting his team mates involved..."..you know, wedging the knife in his back..

Now me the fan.."Somebody had to do it"..

I'd love to see a PG one-on-one tournament. I imagine Curry and Westbrook would be a handful, but I would not bet against Kyrie.

Not that it matters in the real win-an-NBA-champsionship scheme of things. It's just fun to think about.

Had a rough day yesterday and Kyrie's performance helped me end my day on a better note. He's back to playing decent defense, like he was early in the season. While I said he shouldn't start in the all-star game, he definitely should make the team at this point and if that means leaving one of the Haws off the team then that is what should happen.

The last two games have boosted Kyrie's PER by almost 2 points. He's at 21.11 for the season now.

Unfortunately the coach ballots were due to the league office by Tuesday afternoon...just before Mr. Irving exploded for 38 against Detroit and 55 against Portland.

I trust that the coaches know what they're doing anyway. Kyrie has been putting up nice numbers for most of the season while undergoing a gigantic transition. He should be good.

I suppose averaging 46.5 PPG on 51% shooting does wonders for your advanced metrics. :chuckle:

Who the hell is Eric Rosenthal?

Is he the pre-pubescent kid in the twitter pic?

I hate when these stupid obscure writers Make comments like, "Kyrie is out to prove me wrong," or "I expect Kyrie to tell me to stfu," as if their meaningless internet drivel impacted their performance in any way or the player even knows who they are TO tell them to stfu.

I'm generally a fan of finding some way to keep these guys out of Allstar festivities if possible. @ssopata brings up one reason and the other reason is Kevin Love...get these guys healthy and don't risk injury in a dumb AAU game.

This thread is still pretty bipolar. But I guess the trade Kyrie posts can be put to bed now.

He's the guy who is damning the Fates after Kyrie dropped 93 points in back to back games two days after he tweeted his Korver/Irving comparison.

He's also the guy who is now spinning that he just talked about their play "this season", but that's not what he actually said. He made the unqualified -- not limited to just this season -- comparisons that:

Kyle Korver is so much better than Kyrie Irving. It's not even close.

It's not even a debate. You do not understand basketball if you think Kyrie Irving is better than Kyle Korver.

And he's now claiming that "I never said Kyrie Irving wasn't a really good player. I just said he wasn't as good as Korver this season (and he hadn't been)."

Actually, he said it "wasn't even close", and that anyone who disagreed "doesn't understand basketball." So think about that for a second. If he believed Kyrie was "a really good player", but "wasn't even close to Korver", then Korver should be a first ballot HOF'er.

At least he's half right, because there's certainly someone in this debate who doesn't understand basketball....

Is he a young kid or an adult? I can't figure out what he is other than a bball focused blogger who works pretty unprofessionally.

I don't believe for a second that there are not or have not been discussions since Tuesday about some players on the cusp. Maybe it's a non issue as Kyrie is already in the mix, but, if not, surely someone high up is calling up the coach(es) and asking, "uh, guys, we really need to do something about this Kyrie..." It's been plastered all over the national media, and an omission would just be so glaring right now.

Anyway, playoff atmosphere at the Q last night. Haven't experienced that since before LeBron left. Man, I missed those days. Days where your heart is pumping because the games matter.

Games like yesterday is why we go to games...
