C'mon I want him to win. But he is one of the main underdogs in this competition, you can't deny that. Wesley Matthews is the only one probably more of an underdog.

Mathews leads the NBA in made threes and shoots a better percentage from 3 than Curry... why is he the biggest underdog in this competition?

I don't remember him doing it before and he isn't considered a "shooter". Neither is Kyrie exactly, but he can get hot and has won it before and has the experience. Everybody in the competition is obviously good shooters or they wouldn't be in it. I'm just saying Steph, Klay, and Korver are next level shooters. Doesn't mean one or two of them could have an off night or aren't suited for the competition, but I bet at least one goes crazy.

Mathews has ranked among the top-10 in made threes in the entire NBA for the past five years while consistently shooting about 40% from deep every single season. I have no idea how that doesn't qualify him as a shooter.

I'd agree the competition is stiff this but I wouldn't dismiss Mathews or Kyrie because of it.

Okay, saying "no chance" was exaggeration on my part. All of them can shoot obviously. But am I wrong in saying the Splash Bros and Korver are the favorites?

I'd guess Korver to be the favorite, and even then it's not much of one. I don't think anyone has a problem with calling him or the Splash brothers the favorites going into the event, it's the whole dismissing Kyrie and Wes Matthews because they're not shooters. I mean, what???

Come on... you literally said Kyrie has no chance in a shooting competition he's won before... days after setting a franchise-record for most threes in a game. That's not exactly going to go over well.

That's not exactly going to go over well.

Yea I shouldn't have said it like that. That was exaggeration. It's just going to be tough to win this one. Shooting off the rack is also totally different from in game. I'm just glad Kyrie is in it so I have somebody to root for and I can care about at least one event.

Steph has been in this like 4 years in a row and has yet to win. My money is on Klay or Kyrie

Kyrie has a great chance. He's shooting lights out from 3 lately, better than everyone in the contest except Korver and Korver pretty much only takes the wide open easy shots. I get to the games early and watch Kyrie shoot 3s about an hour before tipoff and he barely misses.

I thought he was going to be in the contest because the last game I went to (the portland game), he was going through the spots they use in the contest. He took 3 shots from each spot, being fed the ball about where you would pick them up from the rack. He was 12-15.

Yeah, probably wouldn't have watched if Kyrie wasn't participating. In other news, Kyrie finished with a 24/5/5 tonight, with 12 of those points coming in his huge fourth quarter.

Some of the finishes he had through traffic tonight were just... remarkable. At this point it's a fact: he really is the most creative scorer around the basket in the entire NBA. That reverse finger-roll and those pull up bank shots were another few in a long line of high level of difficulty shots that Kyrie makes look easy. Just another day at the office for the 22-year-old three-time All-Star.
