Remember his game 5 performance against the Magic? Right, no one does. Game 6 against the Celtics with his 9 turnovers the next year? Both of those were our years. We could hang with anyone, but he let the Celtics beat us again.
The Mavs series...
There are plenty of examples, and he has gone to 5 straight and won 2 total.
He does not play until the end. Once he thinks he is getting beat he is beat. Just an observation, but I would not put him in the conversation with the best competitors of all time.
It’s definitely the smart move. Even though he could probably start playing in games tomorrow, you don’t want to put him at risk for further injury, and you want to build up his strength enough so he can last the entire rest of the season.Seems line they're absolutely intent on getting Kyrie's leg strength built up before letting him return, which I'm all for.
You pretty much said exactly what I was going to in different words. Curry, Durant, Harden, etc. are all in one class (a great class, MVP caliber). But LeBron is in a different class of his own. All those guys can impact the game primarily on scoring/offense. LeBron can impact the game in so many ways. The guy averages 25 points a game and nobody sees him as a "scorer". That is insane. Nobody can take over a game from every aspect like LeBron can.
I guess I could have quoted it and moved it into the LeBron thread, but it is in here and I wanted to respond.I'd hit winner a dozen times on this if I could (except for the fact this whole discussion is in the wrong thread). LeBron can dominate every area of the game. Look at how he closed out the last two games. Many of the non scoring plays were ridiculous.
I thought this was the Kyle Irving thread.I clicked on this thread thinking it was the Kyrie thread.
MILWAUKEE – Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving was recently cleared for intensive weight-bearing activities, league sources informed Cleveland.com.
From here, the team's training staff can intensify his leg-strengthening assignments as it sees fit, I'm told.
This is a significant hurdle Irving has cleared in his recovery. The three-time All-Star is progressing, but this new phase in his rehabilitation from fracturing his left kneecap in Game 1 of The Finals still doesn't grant him freedom for on-court work.
[...] When Irving builds up his legs to the point where they're equally strong, he'll receive the green light to begin practicing with the team.
And once he is permitted to practice, a week of full practice sessions with no setbacks is what the team needs to see before he's allowed to make his season debut.
