I look at Steph Curry and just wonder what might have been for Kyrie this year.

Now that Steph is a champion he's just got this confidence about himself.

I still feel like Kyrie was on path to outplay Curry that series.

Cavs win the championship. Kyrie is healthy. Kyrie is currently dominating like Steph is right now.

Maybe, maybe not. But knowing that he outplayed the MVP for a championship would have given him a big boost as well imo.

errrrrr I'm still upset about that finals.

Except curry's 3pt shot is beyond legendary. I hate the freaking guts outta the guy, but i respect him. KI's 3 aint shabby but currys on another level

One of the things I kinda wish Kyrie would do is have a little bit of Curry's mentality and fire 3's up anytime space is granted. Kyrie may not be Curry, but he has always been a special shooter in his own right, and hits 3's at an extremely efficient rate.

Aint shabby?

You realize he's one of only 24 NBA players to EVER average 20 PPG and shoot 40% from 3 on 4+ attempts?

Basketball Reference Season Finder (LINK)

Of those 24 players, Kyrie is the youngest player to ever do it (22). Both he and Curry first appeared on that list in their 4th NBA season.

People seem to really underrate Kyrie for whatever reason. Maybe that has to do with seeing LeBron's apex.

They only thing keeping Kyrie from being one of the truly great players ever is his body. If he can get remotely healthy for the rest of his career, his numbers are going to be insane.

Injuries and hadn't won anything on his own until Lebron showed up. Plus, he didn't get to play much on the stage that would have attracted the media hyperbole needed to become a true superstar.

Agreed. But I wish the state of the franchise that Kyrie came into was taken more into account. It's pretty clear they were tanking. It sucks for him that he's not going to get the credit he deserves as a player. Lebron will get most of that.

What does "ways to go" actually mean? More strength training so his knee can absorb contact hits? Because from the looks of it Kyrie is capable of most if not all basketball activities right now.

Hopefully it's just the Cavs pulling the wool over our eyes and mid-way through the 3rd quarter tonight the arena suddenly darkens and the deafening sound of shattered glass followed by Stone Cold's music blares while Kyrie blazes onto the court doing Uncle Drew-type shit.

Would be great if he actually pulled a Stone Cold Stunner on Korver.

Yes, I believe it has to do with strength and conditioning at this point. If the doctors have determined that the bone has healed, then it has healed. Physical therapy won't prevent any future harm from direct contact. We need luck for that.

To play his style of ball, Kyrie needs to have his quads, hammies and calves firing maximally.

I appreciate how are they are handling his recovery. He has the best of the best when it comes to diagnostics and therapeutics.

"Ways to go" is Haynes trying to keep his initial click bait timetable of a January return alive. I've noticed him doing this lately with pretty much everything he writes about Kyries recovery.
