LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm not even a Cleveland sports fan (Reds, Bengals, Buckeyes and Cavs) and that commercial gave me crazy goosebumps. Really loving the karma that's coming Cleveland's way, you guys have earned it! (and glad I can hitch a ride on my NBA team)

My boss's husband is on a private jet to cleveland right now for this game and she is sending me home early. Phew... Even though I don't live in Cleveland I can at least take in the media hype...

That commercial is awesome! Jeez I got goosebumps.

I'm real happy for you guys. How the tables have turned. Now we're starting CJ Miles and Donald Sloan, and the only people not talking title with you guys is the team itself.

I just fucking spent the last 15 minutes weeping like the biggest baby after watching the Nike commercial.

I've haven't been to Cleveland (although that'll change in February), haven't felt the Cleveland ice hanging off my ball sack, haven't been the longest Cleveland sports fan of all time and I haven't been around for some of the more arduous moments in Cleveland sports history (other than the losing streak) that illustrates the pain that has coincided with this 50+ year sporting curse.

All I've done is sing the words "Cleveland Is The City Where We Come From" repeatedly since I was 12 years old, represented the city in Australia by wearing a number of different Cleveland-branded clothing items, never missed a sports game since the Internet allowed me to do so and done my best to learn about the history and present issues of Cleveland.

But watching videos like this, sharing moments like this makes me feel like I was born and bred in the city of Cleveland. It ignites a passion in me that extends outside of basketball. And that's when you really know how much you fucking love this city.

By the way, not that there was any doubt but 95% of fans voted LeBron should continue the chalk toss. He's bringing it back.

Right there with simmy. It's so fucking strange that you can develop a sense of pride and belonging to a city you've never visited, let alone lived in, yet here i am, after 10 years of following the cavs and I can honestly say that nothing has made me happier this year than seeing LeBron return home. Part of me realizes it's stupid and irrational, to get that emotionally invested in something so far away from one's life, but dammit if this isn't the one team I will follow 'til i die. I was never a jock or a sports fan and always found the general sports culture to be idiotic and nonsensical, but through all these years being a Cleveland Cavaliers fan has shown me just why so many people pour their money, emotions and hopes into a ball club: the feeling of comradery, the sense of unity, to feel like you are part of something that is so far beyond yourself. I have gained so much appreciation of the term hometown team, especially through interacting with all you amazing hardcore cleveland sports fans on here, and despite not living in Cleveland I have come to truly love the team and truly love the incredible community surrounding the team, who have all collectively proved that "sticking to your guns and never forgetting home" pays off and is the only way to be a true fan. The cavs have brought tremendous heartbreak and tremendous joy and despite me never setting foot in Ohio, I feel like i'm part of it, and i feel like they're just as much my team than anyone else. Tonight i can say, after all the ups and downs, the trials and tribulations, I can wholeheartedly say that I love my Cleveland Cavaliers, and by proxy love every single fan associated with this incredible team.

thank you to every single Real Cavs Fan out there. We've waited 4 years for this, let's enjoy this. This is our night.

I try not to allow myself to be emotionally manipulated by corporations (and don't even get me started on Nike, specifically) BUT that is one fantastic commercial.

For any Clevelander, certainly one for the ages. (Sniff, sniff.)

Rescheduled my day so I could get home to watch pre-game coverage at 4pm here in LaLa Land.

Getting P-U-M-P-E-D.

I saw the commercial at work and I sat at my desk with tears in my eyes. Amazing doesn't seem like a strong enough word.

I have literally never felt more pride and excitement about my city and my team. LeBron is back, and he's in 100%, and we're getting the attention that we deserve.

I'm not taking any of this for granted.

Can't wait for Kendrick to perform so I can go take my seat in the Q.

Worse than Alonzo Gee so far :chuckle:

EDIT: But actually though, is LeBron trying to be Alonzo Gee for Halloween?
