LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
That was a really hArd lose. I'm not gonna lie, I expected a win. But hey that is basically the same Knicks team from last year and we have basically a whole new team. Chemistry isnt a myth folks.......when we get it, we'll be tough

Well... LeBron wanted adversity... he has it right off the bat. This was an enormous, embarrassing letdown. Chemistry was invisible tonight. Chicago will likely handle us tomorrow. Let's accept reality and the slow start we are about to witness, and not abandon this team.

He just hasn't looked as athletic as we're used to seeing, not in a lot of the preseason and certainly not in this game

Posted this in the game thread but will re-post here for those that might miss out. For those interested, I'd be downloading this video. Definitely a memorable part of history that I have a feeling most of us would want to have forever on the old hard drives:

Hm, hard to describe. He just wasn't attacking the paint. I don't know why. Guess he was trying to involve everyone else.
But still, he has to play aggressive in order to play successful basketball. I won't overreact but LeBron played really bad tonight. Disappointed.

Posted this in the game thread, Anyways to anyone worried about Bron or the Cavs this is the Heats 2010-11 record where they were 3-7 soon after they went nuts. So no one should be worried.

Right there with simmy. It's so fucking strange that you can develop a sense of pride and belonging to a city you've never visited, let alone lived in, yet here i am, after 10 years of following the cavs and I can honestly say that nothing has made me happier this year than seeing LeBron return home. Part of me realizes it's stupid and irrational, to get that emotionally invested in something so far away from one's life, but dammit if this isn't the one team I will follow 'til i die. I was never a jock or a sports fan and always found the general sports culture to be idiotic and nonsensical, but through all these years being a Cleveland Cavaliers fan has shown me just why so many people pour their money, emotions and hopes into a ball club: the feeling of comradery, the sense of unity, to feel like you are part of something that is so far beyond yourself. I have gained so much appreciation of the term hometown team, especially through interacting with all you amazing hardcore cleveland sports fans on here, and despite not living in Cleveland I have come to truly love the team and truly love the incredible community surrounding the team, who have all collectively proved that "sticking to your guns and never forgetting home" pays off and is the only way to be a true fan. The cavs have brought tremendous heartbreak and tremendous joy and despite me never setting foot in Ohio, I feel like i'm part of it, and i feel like they're just as much my team than anyone else. Tonight i can say, after all the ups and downs, the trials and tribulations, I can wholeheartedly say that I love my Cleveland Cavaliers, and by proxy love every single fan associated with this incredible team.

thank you to every single Real Cavs Fan out there. We've waited 4 years for this, let's enjoy this. This is our night.
We spent much longer than 4 years, but I very much appreciate your response

Watching it in person - his shot was off, but he had some good looks. The main concern from what I saw was the lack of explosion off the dribble and around the rim.

I wouldn't think much of it at all except I noticed it in the preseason he was missing layups at the rim that used to be automatic for him, and not elevating like we are accustomed to seeing.

Maybe just the moment was overwhelming for him. But LBJ has a lot of miles and Miami ran him into the ground...

He needs to be LeHulk again. He doesn't look as strong as he once did when it comes to attacking the rim. Right now, he's just showing the same type of aggression that he showed in the preseason. He's locked in passive mode.

He's having a hard time knowing where his teammates want the ball and when they'll be on the move, etc. His timing is way off when it comes to playmaking so far. The sooner he plays more aggressively on the offensive end, the faster he'll play at his usual all-around level, but it will take time to for him to gel with the other guys. I have watched LeBron enough over the years to know that if he plays in passive mode and play off the ball, he will struggle to get into his normal rhythm.

I didn't think it was that bad of a game. The Knicks hit a lot of VERY tough shots, the Cavs missed a lot of open looks and turned it over, and the calls mostly went New York's way. Pretty sure this team will be fine. Take a deep breath.

Right Bron is known for slow starts sometimes and when he feels better with himself and the team life will be grand. Everyone and their uncle knows Bron was drained from the day and glad it was over. He basically said good now we can focus on basketball. While I love the put on the City got it really drained the team.

I just want to see LeBron be more aggressive by playing closer to the rim. Leave the outside shots for Irving, Waiters, and Love. I just hate it when he plays in passive mode. When you're a 6'8" 260+ pounds powerhouse who can overpowers a lot of PF's and even C's in the league, you have to play more aggressively on the offensive end and attack the rim more. He still looks very tired.

I don't think reducing his minutes will be a good idea either. Habits are a part of developing chemistry and the less minutes he spends on the court together with all his all-star teammates, the harder it will be for him to gel with them comes playoffs time. They'll need a lot minutes playing together in order to really be comfortable and familiar with each other.
