LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
-Shumps deal was not rated to being tight with LeBron or repper by Klutch. He was coming off his best season and a very good post season run. His play in the Chicago and Atl series with Love out and Kyrie hobbled was critical. It's actually arguable that if he hadn't have re-signed so quickly with the Cavs on that 2015 open market he might have gotten the same or slightly more. And if $10Million was an overpay, it's not like he was ever going to be re-signed for less than $8M per. It's not a difference that would have affected what the Cavs could do elsewhere.

-Its time to stop acting like TT and JR got massive overpays because of being repped by Klutch/endorsed by LeBron. They may have gotten 1-3Million more per year than they would have from another team, but that's it. So again, it's nothing that would have affected the Cavs ability to add other players.

And it's important to remember at the times of re-signing Shump, TT, and JR letting any or all of them walk would have created a situation where we could have only replaced them with vet min players.

This idea that we could have gone in all sorts of other awesome directions had LeBron just not strong armed us in to re-signing his guys or possibly giving them a little more than market value is pure BS

Lebron was pissed when micky arison let mike miller walk to save a couple million which some say partially sewed the discord in the event that he left. Clearly with TT being a Klutch guy and the urgency of LeBrons thoughts at the time made it imperative that his demands be resolved. The line of reasoning at the time was that those guys could not be replaced on the open market therefore we caved to their demands.

The original point still stands that if everyone on the roster wants max money then we are left with no other real capability to improve the team. So if LeBron would have taken less money Along with TT and JR not holding the team hostage we may have more options...However they did and we dont.

The timing and numbers bear out that your above assessment is incorrect.

It just isn’t accurate that LeBron forced TT & JR to get the contracts he did. He said several times he stays out of things like that.

He didn't stay out. If I remember correctly, he tweeted something directly about "getting their deals done."

He was saying that as a teammate. That is a far cry from going directly to management and demanding they be signed for a specific dollar amount. LeBron denies it, Griff and other members of the front office deny it.

You underestimate how much of an impact and power a subliminal LeBron tweet has.

Remember 1-3 million more for each is a massive tax hit for the team...but in all reality they had to resign them because they wouldn't have been able to replace them

In both cases he did not do that until training camp was almost started in late September

FA begins in July. LeBron stayed out of it for several months. Once the season approached, it was important for all sides to get to the table and make sure regular season games were not missed.

Yes. Not downplaying the cost to Dan Gilbert's wallet but those three deals we pretty much had to make as we were already far enough over the cap that letting them go would have been a disaster and the extra couple million they got per year has had no affect on our ability or inability to bring in other players

If I remember correctly, all of these players were RFAs....yet, I do not remember a single report coming out that any of these players received any offers from any other team. All we had to do is let the market and Rich Paul do the heavy lifting for us...yet, we did not do that and simply just matched any offer.

Hence why I believe that we outbid ourselves because of maybe we wanted to please LBJ and "take care of his guys."

JR got a big offer from the Sixers last year.

See how the Sixers gave JJ Redick a huge 1 year deal. Sixers might have did the same for JR. Would JR have taken it? Idk.

In fairness to the contracts to the Klutch guys...

I think they were made in anticipation of the cap continuing to grow. But the cap stalled out after the big jump. Making those deals seem a bit worse than they were when we signed them. If the cap was 108 million instead of 99...that would change a lot.

I still don't even think JR is overpaid. He had a terrible regular season but honestly he had plenty of legit reasons why. And then he managed to show up big timez had a great playoffs and even was big in the finals when nobody really was.

TT earned every penny too... until the GS series at least

So I thought uninterrupted was just on like social media and youtube, I finally went to the actual site tonight and its quite entertaining. The odd thing is watching championship stuff a year removed but it feels good to look back. Makes no sense they wouldn't charge for their content though, from a business perspective. You aren't going to rival youtube and you might as well just upload all the videos there and get WAY more views.

LeBron James a mega star and world wide known. He won or helped win one with the Indians doing the same shit. He made and gave his promise and the team was magic. I could care less about the NBA AND LeBron, however I want to see Rose play with LeBron.

The thing is they did it but got to get better, The thing that sucks is Irving was the most jaded and it shows. TT is a bitch but a hard working one and it takes LeBron to reason with Kyrie of all players. Fuck one ring in Bball and go Tribe.
