LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I want to watch some Cleveland Cavaliers basketball, not Days of Our Lives.

We wanted him back guess what we got him back. The guy is a walking soap opera and to be honest this is the part I forgot about. You take the good with the bad here.

Don't these guys text each other all the time? Why are they talking about this right after the game? Regardless of what's being said, it's just weird. Even Skolnick concedes that.

Why couldn't this be Maziel and Gordon saying this stuff. I would be so happy and drive them to the air port.

Because they are half joking and will play it off as that. What is funny is I heard LeBron call Wade an asshole in that clip :chuckle:

His behavior throughout that game was horrible. Joking with the Heat bench while Kyrie limped to the free throw line is the angriest I've been with him this season. Until now.

Yeah, and how about him screaming at Love to box out on national television Christmas day, when he was half-assing the whole game on defense, and not playing his best? That was the moment I legitimately started worrying. He has constantly acted above reproach with his team all year, but he has barely played one full game at %100. His defense has been down right dreadful a lot this year.

Then days later, hes in CHILL MODE.

Then he leaks to Haynes he might leave and make the right "business decision"....

Then he doesn't give Blatt his full confidence....

Then the video.

Honestly, there's been something very strange about his behavior and his on court play, starting in the preseason.

Thinking back to some of the early games this season, where his body language and effort was downright awful...The Portland and Utah games....

He's been the opposite of a leader out there.

Compare the way Irving, Love and Blatt have handled adversity to James. Men versus a Boy.

Man, holy suggestion bias! After reading Royce Young's tweet, I went back and listened again.

Royce said to him it sounds like "Hey when all get done with this here, we gonna reunite again and do bigger and better things."

He then referenced Ethan Skolnick's recent reporting that the two are planning post-retirement business ventures, possibly even team ownership.

Listen to it again and tell me that is not equally plausible.

Stupid interent. SMH.

We are some shell shocked fans, as Clevelanders in general in then more specifically as Cavs fans.

First major sign of trouble or things not being the dream right off the bat and we are ready to just completely emotionally bail. Not that I don't get it, based on the past, but I just think this thing is being blown up way way way more than it merits. It'd be nice if nothing had been said at all so there was nothing to look into or over react to, but to think that in front of cameras and in a 100% serious way, LeBron would tell Wade that if things don't work out this year he is just going to bolt back to Miami is beyond ridiculous.

It could have been about business stuff or post retirement stuff(ownership, etc) like Skolnick referenced
It could have been just joking and decompresing from all of the attention of the past 6 months and then this first game back in Miami. Like a joke of 'if people thought this summers move was a "storyline" we could top it next year.' But not in a serious way and between two best friends who for 4 years took the punches and absorbed the "heat" together and who are now having to do it separately this year.

And I'm not trying to absolve LeBron from it. It's a bad look, even if it is being blown out of context. It does re-inforce the narrative out there that he has not fully committed and invested emotionally yet to his new teammates and coaching staff. So I wish he would be more aware of that but to me it's a 10 second interaction between two best friends.

So I get "proceeding with caution" And I understand fans who don't want to emotionally buy in until they perceive LeBron as having emotionally bought in. But to watch what seems like half of the board revert straight back to May of 2010 status is just weird and unnecessary. If you don't have the fortitude to roll with the ups and downs, just pick safe teams from year to year. like there are great teams out there in the NBA who have already gone through their rocky pahse and are now enjoying the fruits of 2-3 years of team building and chemistry. Just jump over to them if 8 weeks in this is already too much for you to stomach.

Edit: Like people really think that after writing the Letter that references it wont be easy and it wont come right away that he is just going to bolt and leave everyone in limbo? 0% chance. That does not mean I'm pleased with all of his body language and effort and sure, he might make a power play, but there is no way he just picks up and goes this year or next. And since I always presumed this roster would take a full year and another offseason to get right, our record or troubles are not enough to break me down to "this is awful" status.

Skolnick is probably correct, I just don't understand why they need to re-affirm that after a game. Like can't they call each other and discuss future plans in private?

I suppose anything is possible if we can't definitively hear the words. But it sure sounds like the word "better" is in that first part, which there is only one context you can take that.

You guys are visiting the loony bin after a few losses.

Listen. If nothing else lebron is a calculated business man that is supremely conscious of his legacy.

For lebron to go back to Cleveland and have im coming home playing on every other commercial - to tell all of the kids at his pre season rally hed never leave again - to have his sprite commercial on repeat about his heart had never left... to have all of those things and then leave after one year would instantly turn his career into a complete comedic parody.

Lebron isn't that stupid. There is a better chance that I get to plunge into natalie portman's rainbow vagina than lebron leaving the cavs next year.

I think of the things I say on a daily basis to my close friends and quite frankly out of context to someone that didn't know me I would look like a madman.

While its fun to talk about conspiracy theories during a spell of awful play that is all they are. He isnt going anywhere.

Agree. And even if it were what fans are dreading it is - it still is bizarrely worded.

"Like I said, if we aren't better this year, we're gonna re-unite again and do some bigger and better things, alright?"

I still don't quite understand how that first part would be referencing the Cavs. "If we aren't better this year" makes little sense to me in that regard. Better than what exactly? Of course they're way better than last year Cavs already, but perhaps better than the Heat last year? That wouldn't make any sense at all - you don't go to a team with 4 losing seasons and expect to win a title right away with them. I still don't see how it's worth going off the deep end over. I think if LeBron is even contemplating returning to the Heat again - his legacy will be one of ridicule and made fun of rather than his accomplishments. It'd be nothing more than a terrible soap opera:
"Come back LeBron, no one loves you like Miami loves you."
"But Cleveland lets me play with my friends and run the show."
"Cleveland didn't put that ring on your finger, did it? Come on, Riley loves you best!"
