LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yawn. Le Batard loves to gloat about how much power LeBron has but anyone with half a brain knows that this is nothing.

Well, a Miami fan would know how powerful LeBron is. From being Conference finalist to out of play-offs. Thats power for you! ;)

Yeah, at least we were smart enough to tank. Miami tried to hang on... for the 10 seed :chuckle:

Wade will play 30 games.
Bosh isn't going to come back the same after almost dying last year.
Dragic isn't a sure thing to even sign back there.
Banking on Whiteside being an all-star after one flashy half-season?
And Deng started breaking down, 2 years ago.

They aren't my biggest concern. If everything breaks perfect for them, ala GS this year, they might be a 3 or 4 seed next season.

I bet LeBron waits for Tristan's contract to get squared away before he re-signs. I hope that's the extent of it. I'm still not sold on Blatt's job security.

I still dont get why Lebron cares about Tristan so much. If the Cavs bought in someone like Rudy Gay with Haywoods contract and got rid of TT to save luxury tax money would it really bother Lebron that much?

There's no point of even talking about this. Everyone knows he's re-signing. Where would he go, hypothetically, if he weren't to sign?

New York Knicks?

LA Lakers?

That makes me laugh.

Even if we don't do what LB wants, he's going to be back. He's just trying to keep the front office honest. I'm not suggesting we ignore him either, because he's going to do this for the rest of his career, but he's not seriously contemplating leaving at all.

But as of right now, he doesn't really have that much leverage. Because there aren't any great alternatives for him to actually go to right now anyways.

Unless he wants to be vilified by the entire league for the rest of his career and be in a worse situation than here.

Yeah not buying the heat being a treat. They couldn't make the east playoffs with their roster and all of a sudden a rookie is going to put them over the top? Lol ok.

I know this is often met with significant eye rolling, but I feel the same.

Wish list is for Cavs to go after Coach K. Then he'll join Larry Brown as only coaches to win NBA/NCAA 'ships.

This is just my opinion based on years of watching LeBron operate, but I think he's hoping to apply a little pressure on the FO to get Tristan signed (thus getting Rich Paul paid), and to maybe test their resolve w/r/t Blatt. I also can't help but think there's a player or two he'd like to bring in via trade, but I'm not going to risk the dreaded "X" of disagreement and name said player(s).

If LeBron wanted to voice his displeasure with Blatt, he wouldn't need to posture as a free agent to accomplish his goal. If he had an issue with Blatt, Blatt would be gone. Obviously, LBJ is ok with that relationship continuing.

Its more of a move to keep the front office in their toes. That way, he ensures the the front office don't do what Miami did in 2013 when they traded Mike Miller because they wanted to save some money. I think he will sign a 1+1 contract and next year, once the cap rises, he is getting the record deal.
